He's had a lot of health problems. Inflammatory bowel disease if I recall.

He has an unbelievably good win in the Giro a few years ago, looked unbeatable on that day.

it's incredibly hard to win one-day races especially with such an elite pecking order up there. could say the same about the group two guys like Powless or Skuijns

I actually think there's far more ability to get back at Roubaix than here if you're strong. If you puncture at Arenberg there's plenty of time to get back. Laporte had no chance today in comparison
