Is she the new Sepp Kuss, or what? One would think Sagan just won with all this saltiness.
She's an exceptional and exceptionally strong rider, who rides for one rider and one rider alone, and that rider is Lotte Kopecky. SD Worx are stupidly top-heavy, but you can see how different units work together. Kopecky on the other hand doesn't seem to do anything unless she is sole leader, and when she isn't, she rides for her own goals only regardless.

Like, if Wout van Aert went to the Tour with Jumbo, but rode for his own GC and attacked Vingegaard in a heartbeat.

What a race from Kopecky. She was the favourite and didn't disappoint a single bit. For me she is the athlete of this World Championships, 3 World titles, 2 on the track and the big one on the road.

Vollering getting second, she and Kopecky are clearly the athletes of the season. Ludwig lost silver on the last meters to Vollering but at least she got bronze and denied a full SD Works podium. Reusser with a really good result after her breakdown in the TT and Schweinberger with another surprising performance today.

Blanka Vas seems to have gotten the U23 title beating Van Anrooij in a sprint.

Something that you could hope that Wout van Aert would do more often, to be fair. Very good trait if you want to maximize your talent and your wins. Wout lacks that *** you all Im gonna win-attitude.

Haha, you could see Vollering thinking "you're not getting second, you annoying piece of #$&*".

What an amazing race by Kopecky, not much could be done about her. The Dutch had the bad luck of the double mechanical for Van Vleuten, so they didn't have any tactical options, but otherwise they rode a pretty good race.

Van Aert isn't as strong as Kopecky, comparatively speaking. Kopecky has no equal in the women's peloton when it comes to explosiveness. Van Aert needs to race smartly, but never does. Kopecky doesn't really need to.

Doesn't mean I have to like it, especially as I've been on board the Vollering train since Parkhotel. The constant attacking her own teammates that Lotte's been doing and the absolute ruthlessness (attacking when the roads are blocked by others including her own mechanical, attacking in feedzones etc.) is part of why she's so strong and so dangerous, but it's also not something I personally find very endearing.

But she was quite clearly by far the strongest rider today and was made to do a lot of the work because of it, and still was strong enough to take it. She's absolutely a well and truly worthy world champion, but it doesn't mean that I didn't want anybody - anybody - not named Lizzie Deignan to beat her.
