Not sure why many people thought Orica could not be in contention. They have been time trialling well all year.

nope - he skipped some turns in the middle but made it to the end fine.
Ah that's Ok then. Wiggins would have loved to be there to drop him in person though :D

I would love to see a National Teams TTT. I wonder how close the Aussies would come to winning it.

Wow, talk about coming down to the wire. Great ride by OPQS and Orica to come so close to one another.

By the way...called it! :D

Thanks for posting, looking at the startlists of everyone OPQS once again look like the team to beat. Greenedge, Sky, Radioshack, Garmin, and BMC look pretty good as well. Think Greenedge and either Sky or BMC will end up rounding out the podium.

LOL I love how 13 more votes have come for OPQS on the poll since the race finished.

1 more vote added to GreenEdge and 4 more to OPQS since last night. What is it with people?

He said in an interview before the race that he was uncertain about his form. He's got no chance in the road race. If he finishes in the top 10 I'll use a Carlton Kirby avatar for a year.

Great race between OGE quartet and Tony f****** Martin carrying all their ITT champions in the last few km.

In all seriousness he was superb. Just nearing the end OGE looked to be slowing down, but that's just the TV- they went very well in the technical sections/ OPQS went well on the climb at the start (Martin, Chavanel, Velits and Terpstra smashed OGE's flat dudes). I was so nervous during the race (faulty GPS :( ) and annoyed (swearing) when they lost but the TDF was consolation. Next year when OGE have Durbridge and Hepburn continue to improve (get some more experience/ ride more GT's) nothing will stop us :)

Nice rides by Sky, BMC (who really could have got a few better riders), RSNT, Astana and Cannondale.

Also congrats to Lulemon for their womens' victory.

Except Cancellara and Sagan (who teams finished way back) no main favorites for road race were in this TTT. It may be possible that the TTT is no walk in the park and Froome finished in the last 4 in a bronze team, a team who didn't even took it that seriously (in preparations).

It may even be possible that the likes of Valverde, Quintana, Nibali etc to be even dropped in this TTT at 3rd place speed. You can't never know though as they weren't there.
