For every Michael Moore biased movie scene Foxnews does 10,000 minutes of pure propaganda..They are on 24/7 and cannot go 3 minutes without dogwhistling to the stupid. Michael Moore's creative license is not worth mentioning compared to what the right wing media, especially foxnews is completely devoted to putting out exclusively. What you are doing here hitch is trying for that moral equivalency republicans like to use..Like a moveon.org girl throws an egg at someone and then it is the same as a teabagger shooting up a church with an Ak47... Some "democrat" had 80 grand in his freezer and it is the same as a Neil Bush's lootings from Silverado.

or Alexi's no-doze in a peach is the same as LA gilled to the max on EPO.

Foxnews does this THOUSANDS of times to every one instance of any framing Michael Moore does.

Lawyers and priests, what excellent company! Just f-ing brilliant that! :D

PS: Forum=Democracy. Get it?

And if you didn't want to comment upon what I said about what you said, and so enter into a debate from which you were doomed from the outset, then you should have exercised your democratic right to desist and disengage. Too bad you need a court for your arguments to have any descent measure though. In the real world (other than me not living in the real world), unprotected by the legal institution and its logic, you will simply be eaten alive by someone of culture who is wiser than you (and I'm not referring to myself at all honestly). That's because you suffer from an acute form of intellectual hubris. And the gods always punish excessive pride. ;)

You really do think too much of yourself. I never engaged in your argument, other than to point out that your narrowly defined concept of atrocity committed for religious reasons is absolutely stupid (Hint: it still is.), because your point was a historical one, and mine was psychological. Past that, you are correct, you are not a "person of culture who is wiser." You are an academic douchebag with too much time on his hands. And it is your students who have been punished by the gods because I am sure they also have to endure your long-winded diatribes who's main purpose is to show everyone just how smart you think you are. Like I said, I know bull****, and you produce gigabytes of it.

PS: Me=I get to decide the topic I discuss, and whether or not to engage in a non-sequitur argument that fails to address the root of the topic I raised. You don't have a vote, Get it?

P.P.S. I will cease engaging at all at this point. Go ahead, pee further. It's the only victory you will get today.

Bye-bye, TFF. You have gone well beyond your expiration date. Indeed the foul stench around here has become quite unbearable. Too much mental poop in the form of verbal excrement. The more you speak, the more unsupportable the smell becomes. First we put a handkerchief over our noses and mouths, then, when the entire air makes us want to vomit, we are forced to go out. Which means go out now.

You know what? There is certainly something worse than a Lance Fanboy...and that is a George W Bush Fanboy.

It would make sense that a Hitchens fanboy would be a bush fanboy..Drunks admire each other when no one else should.

Hitch is a PNAC and BFEE fanboi

Finally decided to post a comment have we.

It seems like that on the surface, but when one looks closely,it contains the usually bullying.

. What you are doing here hitch is trying for that moral equivalency republicans like to use.

He claims to know (without any evidence of course) what others are thinking, and what their motives are.

Looking at this list, i think i can safely say that his comments towards me became trolling, long long ago.

I have of course asked him why he thinks i am a bush or lance fanboy, but as any troll, it would defeat his purpose to give me a responce.

ps since we have some clinic regulars on this thread, could they tell me if i have ever said anything there that makes me come accross as a Lance fanboy???

Reported.

There is absolutely no evidence that I am "trying for that moral equivalency republicans like to use". As with his previous troll comments against me, redtrevisio, has made it up in an attempt to insult me and distort my political positions.

He has no right to make things up and then claim that these are my real motives.

If people want to know what my motives are they can read my posts.

These are the same people who believe Clinton's reluctance to discuss his personal sex life constitutes high crimes and misdemeanors.

Our (Australian) commercial TV stations use these techniques nightly in their "current affairs" programs.

Maybe it's what people think they have to do in order to get their message over to the "masses". How do you reach an audience whose members have the attention span of a gnat (or possibly less), are working two jobs or trying to fit 150 activities into their day, and who are almost constantly intruded upon by media and advertising? You follow in the footsteps of the advertising industry and appeal to their emotions. Let's face it, most people don't read Chomsky or Bernard-Henri Levy or any other thinker or academic.

We have had decades in which "dumbing down" has proven financially successful (ratings etc) and it has become the norm. In general, people prefer entertainment to rigor, and romance/delusion to reality. Sound bite journalism precludes complex examination of issues, but not the conveyance of emotional messages, or dogwhistling.

"News" is so heavily editorialised through voiceover and editing etc that people can now shop for the slant on "reality" which best suits their pre-existing values. They can have those notions reinforced, enhanced and further distorted by sticking to the flavour of their choice. Unless they "reality check" this version of events by frequently referring to a range of different sources of information they will believe they are well informed.

We are all besieged by false claims in media and advertising every day. Even if we wanted to ascertain the truth behind them, very few of us would have the time and resources to do so. We know how to trust our gut, though. That's why appealing to emotions works so well. (Consumer capitalism, of course, is based on this, through the use of advertising to touch on our fears and perceptions of our own inadequacies.)

Not to be a stickler here and I really should not be adding this fuel but the Carlyle group didn't complete the buyout of Loews/AMC until July 21, 2005. Which is just over a year after F911 was released, not to say that the negotions didn't affect the film selections. But before is not correct with the release of F911 being June 24, 2004.

whatever...There was a big push to keep f911 from showing...Loews was a strange fit for Carlyle but made perfect sense along with pressure on many other theater corporations. I think people even bragged that f911 surely won't be shown in Loews theaters..

In any case, Petit Napoleon, apart from suffering from a grave inferiority complex, which has been pathetically evident to anyone who has followed this little tram, one can see you've got a lot to learn in life young man.

And please, refrain from making little spoiled brat comments like this in your above post:

PS: Me=I get to decide the topic I discuss, and whether or not to engage in a non-sequitur argument that fails to address the root of the topic I raised. You don't have a vote, Get it?

Where I grew up on the street, boys who spoke like that got the sh!t kicked out of them on a daily basis. ;) And on top of it you still continue to deceive yourself. For you didn't decide anything, TFF, overcome as you were by the most base instincts and naturally because of your troubling and numerous complexes. Not being of stronger will, as they say, your uncontrollable rage and loathing of me quite simply had gotten the better of you and allowed me to rather easily take hold of your very being and rule over you as a slave is led by his master.

It was, by the way, rather nice to be the puppet-master pulling the strings of a childish and nasty little megalomaniac with the most inane and nonsensical conclusions. What entertainment, Petit Napoleon.

Bye-bye. Ciao.

We have had decades in which

Bernard Henry Levis contributions have for obvious reasons been outside the realm of American politics, so the chances that redtrevisio has even heard of him are pretty low. On the off chance that he has heard of Bernard Henry Levi he would no doubt call him a Bush and Lance Armstrong fanboy considering those occasions where Bernards paths have crossed with America, it has been in defence of US foreign policy. I saw a recent Intelligence Sqaured debate in which he strongly defends Obamas Afghan policy. Moore of course says that Obama has betrayed his campaign by increasing troops in afghanistan, which shows just how much of what he says he makes up. Obama always called Afghanistan “the good war”.

Considering your little rant about how fox has 10000 minute of lies , 24 hour pandering to the stupid, and is the equivalent of shooting up churches with aks, its quite funny that this is the example you came up with.

a d instead of an r on a minor governor knowone will even remember.

Of course all this crap about me trying to defend Fox and being a Bush and Lance fanboy is pointless, and obvious trolling, as any fair minded reader will see.

my posts to which buckwheat responded to (as anyone can look back and see) had tons of critiscism of the american right wing lie machine.

You might also notice that my user name is the Hitch a nickname of “Christopher Hitchens” and my avatar is of the man having a smoke. (actually, as i remember one of your little ad hominem quips was that I must be a drunk because Hitchens likes alcochol, your words being
“drunks admire eachother when no one else should”
)

Hitchens is a prominent member of the atheist movement. Both Hitchens and atheism get attacked by Fox News a lot. In fact, for good measure, here is a clip of Hitchens having a strong disagreement with Fox. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrFgX83OsEY
He has also had several very very nasty scuffles with Msnbcs right wing host, Scarborough.

So your attempt to tell me i am trying to defend republicans is futile. That fox news lies is in no doubt. But that does not in any way excuse Moore and his pathetically cheap tricks and lies.

And i challenge all those who defend him on here to look at what Moore had to say about Al queada and decide if they want to continue to defend him.
they are not "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the revolution, the Minutemen and their numbers will grow”

I agree the other side of the Loews business makes a lot more sense for Carlyle. The Loews group has off-shore drilling and pipeline interests.

Also, it opened at Loews Village VII in Manhattan as one of only two theaters in NYC showing the film on opening day.

That's interesting..How I remember it was that Karl Rove and other BFEE people were putting out the word to not show the film lest you be "with the terrists"
The republicans here in THE capital city of dumb***kistan texas would not dare have watched F911 in a theater nor risked renting the dvd. They would have never watched anything else Michael Moore did either..Except for a couple of appearances on foxnews they would have never heard of Janeane Garafalo. OTOH they absorb 4-5-8 hours of OxyRush and the Hannitys telling them what they should be sh ing their pants about.

Hey, Anne Coulter, I know of her. Although mainly due to a not so flattering song about her by Hamell on Trial, which definitely is not made for little childern and not really for those that are easily offended (such as most of Hamell his work)

Anyway, I never took Moore too seriously, his agenda is clear and he twists and spins the facts in such a way without almost ever showing counter arguments

I'd never read an Ann Coulter book but I have accidentally seen her on tv 10 times as much as MM or JG..

and Ollie North really did warn Al Gore about Osama bin Laden????
