Yes, linking to your wingnut think tank websites spouting failed economic "theory" and your posts sprinkled with Ayn Rand BS is much more interesting.

WSJ is "think tank"? Vanity Fair?

Maybe you should actually read the articles before commenting on them. Read the VF article just on the situation in San Jose. Then we can discuss failed economic reality instead of theory.

Or is that asking too much?

Yes, that is asking too much because I already know the reason of the mess in your state and the country as a whole; your party has incentive and its modern policies are meant to make government fail. I don't read too much nowadays. Yes, I do know enough thank you.

And, you link to thinktank bs all of the time.

You see scotty you and I have different philosophies on what govt is for and what it should or should not provide at even a minimum. And, your philosophy is plain to see no matter how many times you claim you would vote for Bill Clinton, with is one of the larger BS posts in a forum of BS posts.

I have more respect for the low iq redneck voting against their best interests than I do in you, who actually believes this BS then lie in hindsight to display your centrism.

It's obvious you don't read much.

That's right, I don't read much when it pertains to politics.

Maybe you should.

Or don't. It's fascinating reading **** from people who think they know something.

This;

I have more respect for the low iq redneck voting against their best interests than I do in you, who actually believes this BS then lie in hindsight to display your centrism.

is a lie.

Funny how you respond to my post within minutes. Why? So you can troll with your insults? Don't answer, I already know.

Ciao Chris.

dude, uncool. just uncool. you do realize that stuff like this just makes you look bad and does nothing to further the discussion, no?

Furthering scotty's discussions is like riding on a flat tire. (with a carbon rim)

Long on insults and short on everything else. Sun rising in the East indeed.

You are only slightly less boring than Rhubroma.

And you are only slightly less incorrigable and depraved than Henry Kissinger.

Back in the US I can't believe how far right the dialogue has moved in this time and my lifetime. It's comical and sad.

Great posts guys. Keep 'em coming, but don't spray too directly at each other now.

Love the Reagan and Bachman clips. Beautiful.

I think you'd like A People's History of American Empire by Howard Zinn, Mike Konopacki and Paul Buhle

Maybe I should have said I don't read much politics anymore. I used to read alot. I still skim blogs and read Krugman articles, but that is about it. No more books. The last one I read was several years ago by Krugman called The Great Unravelling. It is like he had a crystal ball in that one.

You don't have to be up on the writings of the day to know what Scott will bring to the discussion, and how it is BS.

I understand and I am familiar with Krugman's economic forecasts. The thing about Zinn, though, is that he tells history how it ought be told, or at any rate in a way that allows us to understand the real driving forces behind the historical process: which are interests, motives and crimes. It is a history that is told from the bottom up, rather than from the top down. Sobering and enlightening, as well as eminently revolutionary in the way in which US history is viewed and understood.

The book is an illustrated, sinthetic version of the late Zinn's (Professor Emeritus, Univerisity of Boston) by now semminal classic, A People's History of the United States. Though it is also more than just that, as it is told in the first person with references to the author's own life as a teacher and an activist.

Geez, finally some solutions.

http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme/

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Question: Why not $50/hr? If $20 is good, the $50 would be better.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Agreed. Full govt control. It's the only way.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Agreed. Finally, I can abandon my business. Especially at $50/hr.

Demand four: Free college education.

See, this one I don't get. What would be the point of higher education? But if it's free, it's me. I'm in favor.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

This is already under way so I see no point in being redundant.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Disagree. 2 Trillion would be better. 3 Trillion would be best.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.

Ima little confused:confused: If we are to get rid of fossil energy generation then we may need nuclear. So, I dunno about this one.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Agreed. I think most of these demands should be rooted in constitutional amendments.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Open borders, open society. Makes sense except all those border patrol agents will lose their jobs. I'm conflicted on this.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Agreed. We should be more like Europe.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Agreed. But let me go out and charge my cards to the hilt first. The great part about this will be once this is done nobody will ever be in debt again because there will never be another loan made. THIS IS BRILLIANT!!

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

This is obvious if Demand 11 is met. There will be no need.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

Agreed. In fact union membership should be mandatory for all workers, public and private.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

Yes... without a doubt.

Unions endorse, will join Occupy Wall Street protests

Anyone shocked? Me neither.

""An Inarticulate Articulation of Why Occupy Wall Street Doesn't Need to Articulate a Damn Thing:

Oh, shut the ^%$# up, mainstream media. You know exactly what the Occupy Wall Street (and dozens of other places) protests are demanding. Everybody knows, even dunderheads who pretend not to. They are demanding what every truly great social movement has ever demanded: the right to have a say, to have power in a nation where the majority of people are disempowered. Yeah, you can narrow those into a list of specific goals, as the General Assembly at Zuccotti Park are attempting or as others from the protests or even some in the media have laid out, but so what?""

I guess rudepundit hasn't read the demands just yet.

Rudepundit, why not take them at their word?
