Considering the sheer number of lives that would likely be lost if the current global warming predictions are correct, I don't think it is an issue that should be joked about or taken lightly.

Considering the scientists who made those predictions appear to be frauds I find it strange to what lengths the left (globally) have gone to perpetuate this myth.

I don't take it lightly at all. If fraud has occured I sincerely hope these alarmist's careers are not only over but receive the world-wide scorn they appear to so richly deserve.

It is the humor that one is forced into since few of those who are concerned are willing to consider the other side to this issue; and we are going to throw even more of what we do not have (money) down a rabbit hole to stop something that does not exist (the man made part). I do remember hearing about the coming ice age - and that warming was part of the cooling models. I am in favor of less pollutants in the atmosphere for health reasons but have not fallen for the global warming myth.

They deserve more than scorn - if it were the scientists who have been at the receiving end who were involved in this conspiracy people would be asking for prosecutions.

I don't think that ordinary laymen such as you and I have the capability to debate the science behind global warming. It is a gun pointed at quite a number of innocents and we are going to just say the gun has no bullet in the chamber so we'll ignore this threat ? I don't believe in conspiracy theories; and I don't believe that an entire scientific community would devise and play along with such a conspiracy as many suggest.

Well it's clear they all have strongly held opinions, they just don't really know what they are.
Political brainwashing sure does work!

You can run almost any subject past these examples of human dribble, 1 woman says cap and trade and then finishes with "I don't know what it means" but everything sounds so important. The 20 something girl with the Lord of the Rings shirt on is one of my favorites. The blonde should dye her hair back and stop making more trouble for blonde credibility. Brainwashing does work. NY Gov.just asked for a longer school day because parents can't control their children, and today is a "Day of outrage" (3 scheduled protests) here against violence so anybody who thinks they are left or in the middle should wait until those videos are aired. I was unable to find the link but there is an clip of @6 or 8 people blaming a Chicago kid getting beat to death with a chunk on Government policy.

Those people are so stupid. What happened to people doing research and then making an informed decision? This is why I say you can't talk to most Republicans, they just don't live in reality. How could any reasonably intelligent person want to be involved in a political party that panders to these fools?

You are right, I am not a scientist - but the scientists who are in favor of the claim have clearly made a concerted effort to prevent any public debate on the subject, and they have a track record of error, both in predicting the weather from day to day - as well as predicting the climate a decade or two in advance (see the ice age claims of the 1970s).

All political parties pander to the uneducated and uninformed - it is the nature of politics since this is the state of the majority of voters.

I am doing my part to recycle here at the office. I set up collection bins for aluminum cans on each floor. I gather up all the cans each day, get in my 1980 Ford 85000 diesel truck and dump them in a bayou near my office.

I feel better about this because it puts other people to work. The city has to hire more public service types to pick up all the waste out of the water. Additionally the city has to hire remediation / waste clean up companies to clean out the public waterways here in town.

Heck I bet I just created about 30 to 50 new jobs!

Make sure to keep lots of condoms in the glove box of the mothership. I am sure lots of people who think and act this way need "remediation". Every so often a fireman or arson investigator will set something on fire in order to create work and be the hero by discovering it first. Your trash dumping is a great way to create jobs your innovative thinking is advancing so many causes all at one time. Didn't know Jeff Foxworthy kept up on bike racing. People are still wondering what is holding back the post Katrina rebuild, they need read no further.

Learning is an ongoing process. Because someone may have been wrong in the past, we should ignore him and carry on out of spite of the facts or the consequences ? The main thing the reasearchers as saying is that we need to reduce carbon emissions- why is that such bad advice ? it applies far more to the developing industial nations far more than we in the west. Look at how bad the smog is in China; remember how bad the smog was in LA or San Fransico ( if you don't remember, watch a movie based in either of those two cities from the early 70s). Cyclists should not be debating the need for cleaner air.

Chevy Custom Deluxe 1st car (straight6 w/3 on the tree) Used to look for specials at Revco/SuperX,Thrifty drugs for beer specials,Usually less than 4 bucks a case w/coupon for Schaffer,Blatz/Carling/Mickey's,Hamm's or Oylmpia. Lived with 4 other bike racers in a 2 room house so I have some knowledge of Redneckisms. Also saw a guy at 7/11 yesterday marveling at the Slurpee selection, guess they don't have Slurpee in Melborne. I don't know the Engish/Aussie word for redneck?

I agree with you to a point. But look at the Republican rhetoric with all of the fear-mongering and straight out fabrications like the death panel BS. Plus the right has the tea-bagger idiots and the Evangelical loonies, which brings down the collective IQ of the party quite a bit.

ZOMG!!1!! It's a conspiracy! All the scientists of the world are in cahoots. It's the only explanation. There is no way that scientists can change their theories in light of new evidence. That is not the scientific method. In fact, I don't really have a clue what the scientific method is, but everything should be static and written in stone...like the ten commandments. If it were good enough for Moses...

There is no way scientists can have a better understanding of climate after forty years of research. It just does not make sense. It is nothing but a plot by liberals and the United Nations to set up a one world government and take my bible along with my SUV. It is a good thing the oil companies have paid for useful idiots to deny science. Us modern conservatives would not know about the dastardly scheme if those who want to keep making money by raping the earth did not tell us about it. Praise Jesus.

The scientists must have all met one weekend, probably under the direction of the Bilderbergers and those sneaky Joos. They are beaming their brain rays from GPS satellites. That is why I don't carry a cell phone. I don't want to fall under the power of the aliens. They have been working with traitors to the human race in higher education since 1953 when they landed in the Yukon Territory on June 7th and made a deal with the government. They can be anywhere now. Not just Hanger 18.

I'm pretty sure they control CNN and NBC. FOX may be safe, but Beck could be a double agent. I think they switched him out two years ago. Clones grown in the wombs of sheep. You cannot trust anyone.

I have to keep my seed clean. My precious fluids cannot be wasted. I keep everything in Mason jars in my basement. Don't tell anyone. At night they have been moving my house around. When I wake up it is in the same place, but I know it moves after I fall asleep. I am too smart for them. I tied the house down to the ground with cables.

They won't take me. Not alive. I think the bugs are in on it. A grasshopper was watching me the other day. It's all bioengineering with advanced alien technology bought by Taco Bell to make better Chalupas. I'll show them though. They won't get my giant Suburban. Watch the skies. And the ground.

Apparently you have not been keeping up with the news - like science, sometimes we get new information:

From England - http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100017393/climategate-the-final-nail-in-the-coffin-of-anthropogenic-global-warming/

And an editorial from Washington DC - http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/nov/24/hiding-evidence-of-global-cooling/

If all of the scientific minds were in agreement on this why did they attempt to prevent those non-scientists from getting published? And what made them fear letting the public know about the actual data?

So the information I have been watching on FLOX is not true? I mean is it not true the United States of America will implode if we have socialized healthcare?

And the one who takes the most umbrage to hysterics checks in with this babble. Telling.

Ever notice how the libs always accuse others of doing what they themselves do? GWB (clearly not the best orator) is 'stupid', but of course when Obama has said he's been in 57 states but has not made it to Alaska or Hawaii yet, um, errr, brilliant. Or when Asthmatic's need a breathalyzer... even more brilliance.

There are good people with good hearts on both sides and vise-versa. Some ideas are good, some are bad and no one has a corner on either.
