Worlds Team Time trial Race Thread

Looks like a battle between Omega Pharma and BMC

Anyways does anyone know how many riders of the 6 starters that has to finish for the time to count ? The 4. riders time I would guess but I have not been able to find this anywhere.

Looks like they decided the start list before Sky finalized their roaster...they're not exactly favourites, so shouldn't start last.

They're top of the UCI WorldTour team rankings hence they're going last

In case you dont know, top 10 teams are going to get massive points for team standings in World Tour

200-170-140-130-120-110-100-90-80-70 points for top 10 teams, winner team get same points for winning TDF (If this is correct, WTF is UCI thinking?)

Edit: I mean just give points for WCRR then, what is that big deal of that TTT?

Sky haven't even done a good TTT this year, have they?

Sky was 4th 23 seconds back in the Tirreno-Adriatico TTT, 3rd 9 seconds back in Qatar, 5th in the Vuelta TTT 12 seconds back. So no, for how many time trialist's they have they haven't had any really great TTT results that I can recall this season.

Besides I don't think Sky cares much about winning any more of the big races this season.

Interesting. Would Saxo have been theoretically eligible for such points if they'd kept Contador in their TTT squad?

It's a hard race so it makes sense to have an incentive. I think it was the teams who worked to get this race in place in the first place though. Many don't seem to be sending top squads. Might have been better not to debut this event in an Olympic year?

Orica, OPQS and BMC teams look good.

It´s to close to the other worlds races, many spare the energy for the TT.
It should be scheduled for later in the season instead, after the worlds RR and TT.

OPQS, BMC, GreenEdge.
