I am shocked and saddened by this news. Tondo was really on his way up as a grand tour gc contender. A really classy and professional rider. Tragic. Just tragic. My prayers are with his family, friends and the Movistar team.

Biciclismo writes that Tondo was in the car and drove outside, but the garage door came down. He then stepped out of the car to press the "open" button for the garage-door. But then the car started rolling and Tondo was crushed between the car and the garage-door.
Intxausti was in the car in the passagers seat and whitnessed the whole thing, but couldn't do anything to prevent the accident from happening.

Must be traumatizing for Intxausti. I hope he gets a lot of help from his family and friends and doesn't develop any guilt feelings. Because that's how De Fauw ended his life, because of the guilt feelings from the crash with Galvez...
