i remember reading how he helped to catch this doping ring and thought to myself: this is the kind of rider pro cycling desperately needs.

Bloody hell, more terrible news in a month that is black already. Another rider whose presence will be sorely missed.

Im absolutly gutted. This is so sad. I loved Tondo. Seemed like a cyclist who wanted to do the right thing. We will miss this guy. What a terrible terrible month for cycling. Rest in Peace Xavier.

Oh no.. Such a nice guy and great cyclist. This is shocking. How cruel the world can be at times.

Just as we recovered from weylandts death and were getting to the thick of the action in the giro. There had to be another cycling death, how unlucky. RIP Tondo.

What an incredible tragedy, and such a banal accident as well, if reports are true. Shows just how tenuous our hold on life can be.

RIP Xavier, you will be missed.
