There are 23 riders in the break it seems...
Thought Valverde looked really good yesterday going up the hill

He looked like struggling to me. Then again he closed a gap to the front group alone, but not in a way Valverde normally would. Last year he won here.

Yes you are right ...I must have been looking at the wrong thing

He does look like he is not as sharp as last year but then again I suppose if he is targeting the Giro then I suppose he has a different program ..I am not sure how it all works re programmes afterall he was in form all last season

Anyway maybe someone else will have a chance in the Ardennes this year

Kwiatkowski is on form again in February. Second day in a row where he wins the bunch sprint. Question is, will he again fall flat later in the season? Certainly one of my favorite riders but he just doesnt know when to peak it seems.

I don't put to much weight on these early races, but this is a positive sign for FC.
VMT. I said the same thing yesterday; its very promising to see how little the few weeks off the bike after the Vuelta crash seem to have affected his preparation for this season.

let him fall flat later.
what I need is him on form in March-April

Didnt today's course include a fair bit of climbing? Inpressive ride from Cancellara, judging by his presence at there races (has he done them before?) and his performance, he must be really eager to hit the road again. Will he go to Qatar/Oman?

He would be a moron if he arrives in top shape before this races. It's all about the Giro and Rio for him. Logical form atm.

Valverde rode like 30 Ardennes classics in his career, and 'only' won 6 of them. It's not that he wins it by ease ;)

If guys like Kwiat, Martin, Purito and Nibali are in shape, he can lose too.

Nice.

He seems to be enjoying it at the moment, going to 'new' races instead of the usual build up, racing to win from the beginning of the year.

Trek were not invited to Qatar and Oman. otherwise I suspect it would have been the same season start as usual

I'm sure that Trek didn't want to go in Qatar and Oman.I don't think that ASO prefer PCT teams like Fortuneo Vital more than a WT team like Trek..
