Just checking so I can say something about some of the riders I picked?

Anyway I found making my picks quite difficult

There where a couple that I picked as brothers of high profile columbians with low CQ scores (1 betweem them), I also picked Sam Bennett and the Yates Brothers

I chose Mohoric after his worlds win, think he coud do well.

my most expensive pick being someone promoted from Rabo development team, Nick Van Der Lijke, I will see how he does.

I chose I guy for Colombia Diaz Cardenas that had zero points and I have no idea how he will perform, but he is young.

yep deadline passed.

72 teams entered, more than double last year.

Sam Bennett was a bit too expensive for me, I chose both Yates brothers as well though.
I chose Mohoric after his worlds win, think he coud do well.
He is very young to be going into the WT, I didn't pick him, but if he develops as the speed like Sagan developed, and other Eastern Europeans do, then that may be costly

A lot of mine, were just pick one out of a hat. It is very hard to pick out specific riders from all the talent. Especially as you can't really find bargains, as one bad year nearly encompasses their entire careers.

I think Damien Howson can do very well this year, Jasper Stuyven and Andrea Zordan have been hyped too much and so I just had to bite. And I picked Van Baarle, best U23 of the past season, so consistent. I just couldn't leave him out after that, even though I don't think he will shine particularly at Garmin in his first season. Henao Junior, seemed to be a bargain, especially as he did most of his racing in Colombia outside of Cq land, nevertheless very much an unknown.

Another interesing pick was Merhaw Kudus Ghebremedhin, an Eritrean riding for MTN-Qhebeka, I hope he performs well, he will turn 20 this month and came third in African RR

Most Unique teams

points is the number of times the riders on that team occur in the game

the top 10 most popular riders

and the teams with the best score in terms of popularity - if a rider is on 50 teams the score is 50, unique 1. total of the 12-15 riders.

I really like Van Baarle, but thought he was too expensive to buy considering the same things about his first season at Garmin like you did.

I have both Howson, Stuyven, Zordan and Henao though, and since my team is 4th on the "popularity" list with riders 1,3,4,7,8 and 9 picked I really hope one of my more obscure picks is rather unique.

The most likely one is Heiner Parra (showed himself a.o. in Tour de l'Avenir) Valerio Conti (a total wild card based on Diego Ulissi prasing him) and Aleksey Rybalkin (Hoping he'll get plenty of chances in minor races with almost no competition compared to the organized Russian team).

Also eager to see how many picked Sean De Bie, considering he might be almost as talented as Jasper Stuyven, but is less hyped....

My Team:

Henao Marin Sebastian
Herklotz Silvio
Howson Damien
Ewan Caleb
Stuyven Jasper
Zordan Andrea
Gougeard Alexis
Quintana Dayer
Rybalkin Aleksey
Parra Bustamente Heiner Rodrigo
De Bie Sean
Alaphilippe Julian
Formolo Davide
Yates Adam
Conti Valerio

Sorry...

VAN BAARLE Dylan 188
SENECHAL Florian 126
ZABEL Rick 105
ZORDAN Andrea 91
KUDUS GHEBREMEDHIN Merhawi 93
KOZHATAYEV Bakhtiyar 80
KONRAD Patrick 68
CHEVRIER Clément 59
YATES Adam 55
PARRA BUSTAMENTE Heiner Rodrigo 43
CRAWFORD David Jai 38
ROGLIC Primoz 21
OLIVIER Daan 17
BERTAZZO Liam 10
MULLEN Ryan 6

I'm hoping for Roglic/Bertazzo to be unique.

So to reiterate I am really pleased with the number of entrants, pretty much a full set of the entrants from Year 1, plus a nice set of new teams.

Also to say that the spreadsheet that Hugo original produced really is a thing a beauty. I've seen a few opportunities to improve it, and I hope you all will approve, its easy to polish a great sculpture but the original creator is the real artist.

So here is the spreadsheet. Works pretty much exactly the same as Hugo's. There are Tabs so you can see the oldest/youngest teams, the popularity tally, the frequency of riders. On your team page you can see how many times the riders on your team appear elsewhere, so you can assess how important the points scored by each rider is, big points for rider not picked often = good news for your team! Whereever you see your team name, is click away to either your team, or to the first ranking tab.

2014 scores are set to replicate the 2013 scores (this is just to prove that the spreadsheet works ok). Also introduced in both this and the main game, will be the ability to track not only the points per week, but also points of the current month. There will be a few other innovations too. To hear about updates first, follow me on twitter @mc_mountainCQ.

Any questions or if you spot any glitches let me know.

So there are some doubts about how Van Baarle will get on in his first year with Garmin, but surely he deserved to be picked by more than 6 teams?

I'm happy to see that Chevrier isn't a very popular pick. I think he'll have a good year leading Bissell in the American races, and with France in some of the U23 races.

Van Baarle was a bit too expensive and thus a big risk

A little team presentation :

LUDVIGSSON Fredrik 2 picks

This young swedish brother of you know who has had a tremendous year last season and his tt skills could help him go even higher. Second of Tour of Estonia, Winner of les Boucles de l'Artois, he is going to rise up in his new team. Only two picks so he could make the difference for us.

HOWSON Damien 20 picks
The ITT world champion U23 is coming to Orica this year and should start scoring this week at his Nationals

EWAN Caleb 49 picks
What else? The best sprinter in the U23 field could have a destiny like Arnaud Demare this year before entering the Pro Circus

ZORDAN Andrea 28 picks
This young italian has a big talent and could prove it in his team with less concurrence than Villella in his for instance.

LATOUR Pierre-Roger 7 picks
This young frenchmen had a nice stage at AG2R and proved he could do well with the pros (5th in the Tour du Doubs, 13th in Giro dell'Emilia)
He is going to be France U23 leader and could have the same season as Barguil two years ago

ALAPHILIPPE Julian 32 picks
The 'little Sagan' starts a pro carrier in a team that could suit him well. His first race in Australia could be surprising

FORMOLO Davide 22 picks
Villella was too expensive and this young italian has as much talent but is much cheaper

YATES Adam 28 picks
Same as above, his brother was too expensive and he seems to climb well even better than his sibling

PHELAN Adam 6 picks
Another young australian who could have at Drapac a lot of responsabilities. Definitly a good pick since we only are 6 with him

REINDERS Elmar 1 pick
A young dutchman who has cobbles skills. He could be a surprise and since we are the only one stuck with him...

PARRA BUSTAMENTE Heiner Rodrigo 23 picks
This colombian has great talent and is a pure climber. His arrival at Caja Rural could help him score a lot of points on the spanish calendar or exotic races

FEDI Andrea 5 picks
A bit surprising that he has been forgotten. Andrea could have a great italian season and is a fast rider. He could start scoring this week at the Vuelta a Tachira where his new team is invited (and he is on the startlist)

DOULL Owain 1 pick
Surprising to see that on an english speaking forum, this young british rider has been forgotten. He is a sprinter and could score well.

CAMPENAERTS Victor 4 picks
The new TT reference in Europe is arriving at Topsport Vlaanderen. Only 4 picks makes him a decider!

YSSAAD Yannis 1 pick
Yannis Yssaad is a young french sprinter who could score a lot in the french classics. You are going to be amazed!

Last and for all, I think I could have a go for the win this year!
Watch out :D
