So now that everybody has submitted teams without Cosnefroy, can I point out that CQ seems to be the only source that gives his signing date as July: Direct Velo, Cycling News, Pro Cycling Stats and even AG2R's own twitter account all give it as 1st August.

Still, it's the same rule for everyone.
Hmm, indeed. Well; as you say, same rule for everyone. However it could be a little bitter for those that really wanted to select him if he scores 800 points. I don't think at his cost he would have been too popular, similar to Lambrecht perhaps.

Update 1
Sorry for the wait, guys, but here is the first update of the year. It's quite an interesting update, in which we see rare picks pay off. For the most notable result we're not traveling to Australia as was maybe expected, but to Africa, where torcia_86's unique pick Joseph Areruya won Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Gabon. The level of competition was very low, BUT it is a 2.1 race which earns the winner a handy 110 points! At 65 points, Areruya was definitely not the cheapest pick and a bit of a gamble, but it paid off for torcia_86 with Areruya scoring 153 points already in January.

2nd highest scorer Amis Velo also scored with rare riders, Nicholas Dlamini and Leonardo Basso. Both were quite cheap and have already respectively tripled and quintupled their 2017 scores, scoring 55 and 32 points.
3rd highest scorer is Pantani1, his best riders are Jordi Warlop, Robert Stannard and Scott Davies. Warlop, who was only selected by two other players, scored 39 and is already into profit, and considering his results I think Pantani1 can hope for many more points.

Naturally, this update's top-10 is also the top-10 overall:

1 torcia_86 182
2 Amis Velo 109
3 Pantani1 84
4 Hakkie2 77
5 Roubaix 75
6 laarsland 69
7 Kazistuta 67
8 ArmchairCyclist 65
8 Trudgin 65
8 DJW 65

Good call picking Areruya, he might get torcia_86 300 points. Meanwhile congrats to all of us who believed in Adrien Costa. I hope this ULYSBAYEV guy dominates all obscure Asian races.

Update 2: torcia_86 strikes again as Areruya continues to deliver

We're 2 updates into our game and for the 2nd time, torcia_86 takes top step as the highest scorer. Their unique pick Joseph Areruya, after winning the Tropicale Amissa Bongo earlier this season, took first place in the Tour de l'Espoir, scoring 57 points. It doesn't stop there, more points will comes torcia_86's way in the next update when the points from the African Championships will be included.
While Areruya put torcia_86 firmly ahead of the competition, his points alone weren't enough to earn top spot. Other scorers were McNulty and rare picks Valentin Madouas and Julian Cardona to come to a total of 109.

2nd highest scorer and highest mover in this update is rote_lanterne. Like this update's highest scorer, she selected Brandon McNulty who scored 26 points and added to that Jhonatan Narvaez and Niklas Eg. Rote_lanterne moves up 10 spots, into 5th overall.

3rd highest scorer is Trudgin. She also has Narvaez and Eg and also scored minor points with Madouas, Cyril Barthe and Nelson Soto.

Overall, torcia_86 obviously still leads. 2nd and 3rd place in the first update, Amis Velo and Pantani1, both drop quite a few places and Hakkie2 and Trudgin climb onto the virtual podium. Besides rote_lanterne's jump that was mentioned earlier, we also see LosBrolin and Nicosix make big leaps into the top-10.

wow I'm really happy for the great start of the season, I was sure that Areruya would bring good results.
I was hoping for something better for Carpenter in Middle Eastern competitions, I hope my most expensive pick can take advantage of the European Rally's race program.

Update 3
This update, the golden combo was Jhonatan Narvaez paired with Valentin Madouas, who scored big points in France in the past two weeks. Both were only picked by about half a dozen people, and only two people picked both. Trudgin is our highest scorer, besides Narvaez and Madouas she scored minor points with quite a few other riders, in fact only 5 riders on her team did not score in the last two weeks. laarsland also selected Narvaez and Madouas, but his total falls just short of Trudgin's.
Hakkie2 is the best of the rest, a distant 3rd. His main scorers were Narvaez and Kristoffer Halvorsen.

Highest mover this update is Ludwigzgz, who jumps a big 15 spots to 11th. Like Hakkie2, his main scorers were Narvaez and Halvorsen, while 2nd highest mover has Madouas and Halvorsen. 3rd highest mover AupaPyama is another with the Halvorsen - Narvaez combo.

Our 4 highest scorers occupy places 1 to 4 in the overall ranking. Trudgin and laarsland scored big, but torcia_86's solid performance (with again a big chunk of points from unique pick Areruya) helps them retain the lead. Hakkie2, despite being 3rd highest scorer, sees Trudgin and laarsland jump over.
In the lower regions of the top-10, the most notable jump is AupaPyama, who leaps from 17th to 8th.

Update 4: Trudgin makes it two in a row

This update, we don't really have one outstanding rider. Fabio Jakobsen was the best scorer with 44 points, but many players have him (they'll have a great next update). It was crucial to have a combination of several high scorers this time. Trudgin is the highest scorer for the 2nd week in a row, matching torcia_86's streak from the first two weeks. She paired Jakobsen with Narvaez, Madouas and rare picks Idjouadiene and Sevilla (I'm embarrassed I didn't pick Sevilla!). 2nd highest scorer fauniera had a very different combination, besides Jakobsen he scored with rare pick Pogacar, Hirschi, Welten and Fabbro. 3rd place Ludwigzgz has a more regular lineup with Narvaez, Bjerg and Philipsen scoring besides Jakobsen.

4th finisher this update comodoro is the one other player with Pogacar, comodoro's good result moves him up 9 spots in the ranking which makes them the highest mover this update. Squire and search each move up 8 places.

In the overall ranking, we see no big changes. The top-4 remains the same and there's some small movement in the lower regions of the top-10. However, because torcia_86 had a very mediocre score this update, Trudgin's great result brings her within 1 point of the lead! Trudgin has Jakobsen whom torcia_86 missed, but torcia_86 has Halvorsen instead. Will we see a change at the top of the tables next update? Will someone else with both Halvorsen and Jakobsen come from behind to take first place?

Update 5: The competition explodes as young talents rock the pro scene

Wow, I have a huge update for you guys, with some main game scores. I had to double check to see if I hadn't made a silly mistake while updating the spreadsheet. Big shifts throughout the board! We saw many young riders perform at the highest level in the sport, with as the biggest performance probably Quick Step boys Hodeg and Jakobsen both winning a .HC race and Hodeg then winning a stage in the Volta a Catalunya.

Highest scorer in this update is Hakkie2. He scored big points with Alvaro José Hodeg (185), Fabio Jakobsen (155), Kristoffer Halvorsen (89), Jasper Philipsen (86), Pavel Sivakov (55) and Bram Welten (54). All these riders are decently popular and many or even most players have 3 or 4 of them. But, I guess Hakkie2's composition is pretty much the optimal one.
2nd and 3rd highest scorers TheArt and search also has Hodeg, Jakobsen, Halvorsen, Philipsen and Welten, but instead of Sivakov scored with rare picks Neilson Powless and Jan-Willen Van Schip (TheArt) and Cristian Raileanu (search).

Highest mover is Joelsim, climbing 10 spots, with the combo of Hodeg, Jakobsen, Halvorsen, Philipsen and Sivakov. TheArt, search and fauniera (Hodeg, Jakobsen, Halvorsen, Sivakov, Welten) all move up 8 points. But perhaps the biggest shocker in terms of movement in the rankings is for Kazistuta, who drops 20 positions from 11th to 31st!

In the top-10, as could be expected, we see a lot of movement as well. In the last update I wrote "Will we see a change at the top of the tables next update? Will someone else with both Halvorsen and Jakobsen come from behind to take first place?" Well, the answer is yes to both questions. Hakkie2 jumps from 4th place to 1st, while our previous leader, torcia_86, drops to 12th. TheArt climbs 8 places to 2nd, and Trudgin limits the damage, dropping from 2nd to 3rd.
Ludwigzgz jumps from 9th to 4th, and we see 4 new names in the top-10: Josedin, search, skidmark and MADRAZO.

Update 6: First 10 teams into profit!

Fabio Jakobsen impressed again with a win in the Scheldeprijs, scoring a welcome 140 points for the 21 players that selected him. These last two weeks saw many young riders score in the 20-40 points range, which means the scores in this update are quite close together.
This update's highest scorer is rote_lanterne, who combined points from amongst others Robert Stannard, Jasper Philipsen, Bram Welten and Mark Padun with Jakobsen's. With her big score, rote_lanterne managed to climb 7 places to 3rd overall!
2nd highest scorer is fauniera, who scored with a.o. Jakobsen, Stannard, Welten, Padun and Alexandr Riabushenko and he, too, moves up 7 positions and is now inside the top-10.
3rd highest scorer is our leader Hakkie2, who managed to extend his lead over 2nd place by 40 points. He scored with Jakobsen, Philipsen, Welten, Padun and Riabushenko. Only 4 points behind is search, who besides some more popular picks also saw rare pick Marco Tizza (2 picks) score 48 points.

Highest mover is me (finally best in something :) ). I scored with Jakobsen, Tizza, like search, Welten, Padun and Riabushenko. Joint 2nd highest movers are rote_lanterne and fauniera, both climbed 7 positions as I mentioned before.

Overall, the top-2 stays the same, with rote_lanterne a new face on the virtual podium. Trudgin, who was 3rd before this update, drops 7 positions to 10th. Search moves up to 4th and fauniera is the only new name in the top-10, at the expense of skidmark who is now 11th.

Update 7
Not feeling very creative today but still wanted to post the update :)
LosBrolin is this update's highest scorer by some margin. He scored big points with Valentin Madouas, Brandon McNulty, Mark Padun and rare pick Niklas Eg. 2nd highest scorer, almost 70 points behind is rote_lanterne with points from McNulty, Padun and Eg. Then we have a large group of players who have 2 of the names listed above on their team and as a result we have 8 people within 13 points of each other. Leading this pack is comodoro, with 177 points, he scored with McNulty, Padun and rare pick Pogacar who performed well in the Tour of Croatia last week.

Comodoro is also the highest mover, together with Trudgin. Both move up 6 spots, to 8th and 4th overall, respectively. 3rd highest mover is our highest scorer, LosBrolin.
Overall, Hakkie2 still leads. rote_lanterne takes over 2nd place from TheArt, who drops to 3rd. Ludwigzgz climbs into the top-10 while search and Roubaix drop out.

Update 8

We've had two slow weeks, with the highest score being 100 points and only some minor movement in the ranking. Highest scorer was Squire scoring with rare picks Hermann Pernsteiner (42 points), Cees Bol (30 points) and Cristian Raileanu (24 points). Second highest scorer snccdcno finished only 3 points behind, he is the only other person with Pernsteiner, the rest of his points came from Eddie Dunbar and unique pick Amine Galdoune. DJW rounds out the podium, mainly thanks to unique pick Michael Storer being this update's highest scoring rider.

As I wrote, we only see some minor movement, search and snccdcno are the biggest movers, climbing 3 spots. Search has Cristian Raileanu as well as Nelson Soto and unique pick Jonas Vingegaard.

Overall, the top-4 stays the same but rote_lanterne makes up 60 points on leader Hakkie2. MADRAZO climbs 2 spots to 5th and search jumps into the top-10 from 11th place.

Update 9: Battles on many fronts
Brandon McNulty, Valentin Madouas, Marc Hirschi and Cees Bol are the main scorers in this update. McNulty showed his talent climbing with the best in California, Madouas scored a top-10 finish in 4 Jours de Dunkerque (which is actually a 6-day race). Hirschi impressed in Tour de l'Ain with a 4th place, and Bol got 2nd behind Bouhanni in GP Marcel Kint.

Those with a combination of these names are in luck: they've had a good week. Interestingly, no one appears to have more than 2 of them (unless I've missed someone). Of the four, McNulty is most popular, appearing on 15 teams, with Madouas, Hirschi and Bol on 7, 7 and 6 teams respectively.
LosBrolin is this update's highest scorer, but it was a close match. He scored with McNulty and Madouas, as well as with Conci, Fabbro and Halvorsen. TheArt is the 2nd highest scorer, only 3 points behind LosBrolin. He has Madouas and Bol and added points from Powless and rare pick Van Schip (3 picks). Third highest scorer is torcia_86 with McNulty, Madouas, Van Schip and Halvorsen scoring points.

LosBrolin managed to climb 8 spots thanks to his great score, and he now sits in 6th position overall. 2nd highest scorer is the_asian, who only finished 1 point away from the top-3 in the highest scorers ranking this update. He combines points from McNulty, Hirschi, Halvorsen and rare picks Aurélien Paret-Peintre and William Barta. 3rd highest scorer torcia_86 is also the 3rd highest mover in this update.

Overall, we see that rote_lanterne pushes Hakkie2 from the top spot, but the difference is only slight: 5 points. TheArt remains 3rd, LosBrolin and the_asian leap into the top-10. Of course, this also means some players fall out of the top-10 - skidmark drops from 10th to 12th, and search tumbles 8 positions to 16th.

Also, it may be interesting to look at the collective wisdom teams I put together at the start of the season:

Team 1 was the most popular team possible, but 70 points under budget: (Rider - Points 2017 - Points 2018)
HALVORSEN Kristoffer 151 116
SIVAKOV Pavel 142 72
JAKOBSEN Fabio 118 339
PHILIPSEN Jasper 107 134
RIABUSHENKO Aliaksandr 96 54
PADUN Mark 73 88
WELTEN Bram 56 96
MCNULTY Brandon 35 187
CIMA Imerio 35 0
CARBONI Giovanni 28 10
COSTA Adrien 27 0
HODEG CHAGUI Alvaro Jose 26 205
DAVIES Scott 26 44
BARCELO ARAGON Fernando 14 21
PIDCOCK Thomas 0 2

Team 2 was the 2nd most popular option, with Yssaad instead of Barcelo, coming in at exactly 1000 points:
HALVORSEN Kristoffer 151 116
SIVAKOV Pavel 142 72
JAKOBSEN Fabio 118 339
PHILIPSEN Jasper 107 134
RIABUSHENKO Aliaksandr 96 54
YSSAAD Yannis 80 6
PADUN Mark 73 88
WELTEN Bram 56 96
MCNULTY Brandon 35 187
CIMA Imerio 35 0
CARBONI Giovanni 28 10
COSTA Adrien 27 0
HODEG CHAGUI Alvaro Jose 26 205
DAVIES Scott 26 44
PIDCOCK Thomas 0 2

Team 3 was tied with team 2 as the 2nd most popular option, with Barcelo instead of Carboni, for a total of 986 points:
HALVORSEN Kristoffer 151 116
SIVAKOV Pavel 142 72
JAKOBSEN Fabio 118 339
PHILIPSEN Jasper 107 134
RIABUSHENKO Aliaksandr 96 54
YSSAAD Yannis 80 6
PADUN Mark 73 88
WELTEN Bram 56 96
MCNULTY Brandon 35 187
CIMA Imerio 35 0
COSTA Adrien 27 0
HODEG CHAGUI Alvaro Jose 26 205
DAVIES Scott 26 44
BARCELO ARAGON Fernando 14 21
PIDCOCK Thomas 0 2

Obviously, these teams are very close together in their 2018 score, as there is a lot of overlap, and neither Barcelo, nor Carboni, nor Yssaad is having a stellar season... But... while all 3 teams would be 4th overall if they were included, the most popular team, team 1, does marginally better than the other 2 :)

Update 10: Long overdue

Okay, so I know I usually only post updates in the 2nd half of the week, and it's Tuesday now, what? Well I was supposed to do an update last week but somehow completely missed that and thought this week was supposed to be update week :) so, here's the latest update, including results up to last Sunday. The scores will be a little higher than usual as it's been 3 weeks instead of 2 :)

Bjorg Lambrecht was one of the best scoring riders in the last period (162 points), thanks to his great show of strength at the Tour des Fjords. With 11 picks he is neither extremely popular nor extremely rare, so we see some big shifts in the rankings.
Highest scorer and highest mover in this update is Wallenquist. Besides Lambrecht, he also scored big points with Eddie Dunbar and Fabio Jakobsen as well as some smaller scores with about half a dozen riders. 2nd highest scorer is Trudgin. She also has Lambrecht and Jakobsen, but scores with a large number of other riders, many of whom are quite rare. Some examples: Zaccanti (unique pick),also Ghys (2 picks), Idjouadiene (2 picks), Eg (4 picks) all scored for Trudgin, as well as several others with 7 picks or less scoring quite decent points.
3rd highest scorer is Josedin. He also had Lambrecht and Jakobsen, but some other great performers on his team are Hirschi, Hodeg and Pidcock.

As has been mentioned, Wallenquist is also the highest mover. 2nd highest mover in this update is Squire, He doesn't have Lambrecht, but compensates that with the selection of Hermann Pernsteiner. Only one other person picked Pernsteiner, snccdcno. It was quite a risky pick, considering his background, age and cost, but it paid off. He is the highest scoring rider in this update, as far as I can see, with 170 points, and is now in profit. So congrats to Squire and snccdcno for this very interesting pick!
Trudgin and laarsland share the 3rd highest mover spot. Trudgin's team was discussed in detail above, laarsland's team includes many of the riders already mentioned, Lambrecht, Jakobsen, Pidcock and also Halvorsen and Narvaez.

Overall, Hakkie2 and rote_lanterne switch places again. Josedin moves to 3rd, Trudgin jumps to 4th. In the lower regions of the top-10 we see new names in Wallenquist and laarsland. LosBrolin (-7) and comodoro (-1) drop out.

Update 11

Some interesting races are included in this update, Tour de Suisse, Tour of Slovenia, the recent new Adriatica Ionica race and also several national championships. Fauniera is this update's highest scorer, quite a bit ahead of the rest, scoring with some common picks like Hodeg, Sivakov and Jakobsen, as well as with rare picks Robert Stannard (4 picks) and Tadej Pogacar (2 picks). Pogacar excelled in his home race, the Tour of Slovenia, while Stannard, although a bit erratic in terms of performance, racked up some points in the Baby Giro.

MADRAZO is the 2nd highest scorer, with points from Jakobsen, Sivakov, Hodeg, Lambrecht and Carboni. 3rd highest scorer is skidmark, who shares his four main scorers with MADRAZO, namely Jakobsen, Sivakov, Hodeg and Carboni, but also got some points from rare pick Steff Cras.

No big movement this update, probably because most of the big scorers are on many teams. We have a bunch of people move up 3 places, and then another few moving up 1.

Thanks to their great score, fauniera moves from 9th to 6th overall, and rote_lanterne and TheArt both drop 3 places in the top-10. Hakkie2 still leads, and while Josedin, Trudgin and MADRAZO all make up some ground, rote_lanterne's disappointing week means Hakkie2 has a more comfortable lead on 2nd place than before.

Sorry for a perhaps slightly less detailed update than usual, I am in a bit of a rush but still wanted to put this up today

Update 12: Slow weeks

Clearly, in the pre-Tour weeks, not many races happened besides the National Championships, and those aren't really the best races for young riders to score in. As a result the scores in this update are quite low. Our highest scorer is monsier_hulot, who is in the bottom 5, but saw his 6 most expensive riders gather points these last two weeks: Damien Touze, Pavel Sivakov, Eddie Dunbar, Bruno Armirail, Pascal Eenkhoorn and Marc Hirschi.

For the 2nd highest scorer, we have to go up to the top-3: MADRAZO scored with Sivakov, Jakobsen and Riabushenko, and got a nice 48 points for rare pick Pierre Barbier's 2nd place in the GP Jean-Pierre Monseré.

3rd highest scorer is Joelsim. He has the same combination of Sivakov, Jakobsen and Riabushenko, but also scored with almost-unique pick Corentin Ermenault and unique pick Niklas Larsen (36 points!).

We don't see a lot of movement. 3 people move up two spots: MADRAZO, Squire and Joelsim, and a bunch of others move up one. Overall, Hakkie2 continues in the lead, but MADRAZO is gaining on him.

Update 13

This updates highest scorer is snccdcno/me chiefly thanks to Hermann Pernsteiner's second place on G.C in the Tour of Austria which netted 80 points, that was added to further by Giovanni Carboni finishing 8th overall in the same race which was worth 35. Squire is the other person in the game who selected Pernsteiner and also got a minor contribution from Brandon McNulty who finished 2nd in Chrono Kristin Armstrong. Rounding out the podium this time is Jpettersen who had Carboni and McNulty.

Elsewhere in the top ten it's pretty much a story of the riders mentioned above who scored the main points, the only exceptions I noticed were Pantani1 who has Jacob Hennessy whose 15 points for coming second on today's stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake have been included, as well as Trudgin and scrooll007 who both have Cyril Barthe who picked up 18 points in a couple of Portuguese races.

When you get to the high movers you'll see there isn't that much and the people listed are the only ones to have moved upwards this time, the highest placed of those is the_asian who is in the top ten and then squire who is 12th.

Not much change in the top ten either, in fact the only difference from last week is that the_asian and Wallenquist have swapped places, however MADRAZO scored 32 more points than Hakkie2 which means the gap between the top two is now only 3 points!

Final thing is when I was looking at my team I noticed that either this update or last CQ had done one of those name changes which gets rid of a riders points from this year, so always worth checking your team (if you don't anyway) to make sure this hasn't happened.
