I guess you missed the Peyresourde last year and LBL this year where Pogacar dropped Roglic.

    Richard Carapaz discussion thread

He was leading the KOM classification after 19 stages. It was hardly hype to say he could win it at that stage.

    Critérium du Dauphiné May 30-June 6 2021

What do you think Carapaz was doing before last years Vuelta? Oh, that's right he was also racing. He had 33 race days between the return to racing and the start of the Vuelta, while Roglic had 32. Neither of them were preparing for the Vuelta. Roglic beat him fair and square, but he didn't...

Daniel Martinez is the new Daniel Martin with additional letters

Yes, but he doesn't have to be as good as Pogacar to be a podium contender. Kelderman, Hindley, Carthy, Porte and Caruso have all been on GT podiums in the last year. Of those arguably only Kelderman and Hindley had a strong team. I don't think those riders are a clear level above Martinez, so...

Daniel Martinez is the new Daniel Martin with additional letters

Yates did not have to work harder than Almeida in the Giro even if he had a weak domestiques. He just had to follow the Ineos train. He simply wasn't strong enough in the first two weeks. Domestiques are far more important when you're leading and need to control the race or when you're behind...

Daniel Martinez is the new Daniel Martin with additional letters

True, he was the last domestique to work for Ineos but if he was leading a team he would be doing even less work. And he was only 2"51" off of the podium having crashed on the descent of the Giau and clearly having to wait for Bernal on Sega di Ala.

Daniel Martinez is the new Daniel Martin with additional letters

He just finished 5th at a GT while working as a domestique. He can definitely be a podium contender in the future.

    2021 Giro d'Italia, Stage 19: Abbiategrasso - Alpe di Mera 166 km

The only problem is Caruso isn't the strongest climber in the race.

    Giro d'Italia 2021 Giro d'Italia, Stage 17: Canazei - Sega di Ala 193 km

Roglic was not head and shoulders above the rest in 2019. He gained time in the time trials because he is a better time trialist and lost time in the mountains. He was not the best climber on a single stage compared to Bernal who was strongest in 3 stages at least and was in the first group of...

Ruta del Sol - Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía 2021 (May 18-22)

Yes, and they rode for Valverde when he was the better option and rode for Quintana when he was the better option. So, surely they will ride for Lopez if he turns out to be their best option.

Torres and Consonni are pretty quick too. I'd say Consonni is the quickest in that group.

    João Almeida - Bota Lume

I think you've misunderstood. I'm trying to say he is a very good climber.
