I think he still needs 30-1min on Froome for the TT. Plus Contador may get stronger so a long range attack is not impossible. While Quintana is very much the massive favourite, this race is not over.

Even though I like Contador him losing 50 seconds could be a huge blessing for the excitement of the race

You can't disqualify someone for causing a crash accidentally. Crashes happen in every race (especially in a race like the points race), all the riders accept that all it takes is a reckless or careless move and they will hit the deck.

Cyclingweekly seems to think Meinjtes will leave Lampre for the new Bahrain team

Looks as if this new Bahrain team will come to fruition for next year, so Nibbles will probably be riding for them for 2017. Do you think they will want him to ride the tour next year? I would think that as an Italian the 100th edition of the Giro must hold some appeal.

I wonder if Aru will ride the Vuelta. Had quite a poor tour and has not won much this year.
