Bettiol vs Johannsen vs Latour for the overall?

Thomas is an ITT specialist but I'm not sure he will be able to survive Mont Bouquet.
Boasson Hagen looks alive again after a couple of years off, theoretically he has the skillset to be in the mix as well.

In 2020, Bettiol both won the ITT with a decent gap and was the best from the peloton on the mountain stage (the breakaway took first 3 places), so it looks good for him but admittedly no 2 races are the same.

Anyone got some sort of update about what's going on?
The race hadn't started yet when you posted this ;)

8-man breakaway up the road with the gap at about half a minute. Closest rider on GC is Raugel at just over 2.5 minutes so probably no chance of making it.

I bring good news!

The last two stages will be shown live.
In Denmark, at least. Dunno about the other places that were blocked earlier.

Tiberi 3rd.

Good climb from him. Too bad he was distanced on the earlier stages. He can time trial and could have been better placed in the GC.
Yes and Verre 8th on his first mountain stage/mtf as a pro.
Bettiol has the overall lead?

I don't know. He doesn't look in top shape and Thomas can time trial. Plus you never know with the kids nowadays, Johannessen might smoke everybody.

Surprising to see Thomas this good on such a finish he should probably take the overall now although Bettiol will still be dangerous. Good win from Johanessen, looking forward to see him in harder races.

Tomorrow will be an interesting battle. Thomas is an ITT specialist so I would rate him as favourite.

Bettiol has performed very well on this stage previously, but if he wasn't able to outperform Thomas today, he should find it hard to beat him tomorrow.

I don't know about Tobias' ITT skills but he seems the strongest of the trio.

Will be a nice battle for the win.

Don't count out Latour either, he has a good trackrecord here. Would need a brilliant day to overtake all three of them though.

Turns out his climbing time was slightly faster than in 2020. Johannessen and co broke that record by 25 seconds, Bettiol finished 23 seconds down today.

Looked like the wind was doing its thing too. Was it a tailwind or even a cross-tailwind today, perhaps?
