Looking around Ineos Adam Yates with this forem is there best bet at the Tour for me

I think he si the only one who could stay near Pogacar or Roglic

Porte and Carapaz are very good but not good enough

Thomas ...well it remains to be see seen if he can so it again

This is really reactionary, Yates has been good in one week races but struggled in grand tours for years. Carapaz nearly beat Roglic at La Vuelta and needs more racing to get back to top form whilst Thomas' form is improving and he clearly has a better grand tour record than Yates.

I am not sure if your point is for Adam to go to the Giro or the Tour? otherwise what does Bernal has to do with Adam Yates? I am just a bit confused.

Seeing Bernal weak and not sure he can keep this form until Tour I would make Yates to do the Giro-Vuelta double. Less pressure for him and more chances to win by avoiding Pog-Rog. The Ineos Tour team is already stacked unless he might replace Tao.

having no real GT focus may also be one of the reasons why Yates is so good in those one-week races. Spilak used to win his races the same way, for example: peak while most others are in preparation mode

The effect of preceding climbs taken at leisurely pace on the final climbing times can be really neglegible. And it most certainly doesn't cause 2 minutes of difference.

They need to staple him to Kruijswijk more often. Kruijswijk doesn't have a kick, so even if he feels good and runs the train he's more likely to get Sepp to actually DO something. And he doesn't tend to get good until a few days of racing have gone by either, so the team is more reliant on Sepp to get something out of the race in case Kruijswijk doesn't later, whereas Roglič having a high base level and such a strong finishing kick means when he spends most of his season stapled to Rogla's hip, the guys in the car are always likely to take the washer and dryer where the lovely Smithers is standing rather than trade it in for what's in the mystery box of Sepp.

Chaves likes to keep us guessing - I am confident in my information, though the situation can change - The one thing that is undeniable is these days, Chaves can be at full strength for only around half a GT.

This is you first post in this forum, so I take your opinion with a rock of salt!

Best climber in the peloton is Pogacar but Yates brother in form are very fast as is Roglic
Porte & Carapz and Landa are no slouches
Bernal has the problem with his back but otherwise would be in the list
Quintana in form is also one of the best climbers

Kruijswijk doesn't have a kick is the best excuse for getting dropped every mountain stage, then when the proper Tappone happens he still gets dropped and we conveniently forget we were hyping him.
