For me the big wave of tension building up feels more like big boredom building up because the climbs just don't want to start. I haven't seen this race that often but in the years in which I did I really didnt like it and actually just watched it because its known as an important race and everyone will still talk about it in the coming months.

Eh, I think as a cycling fan you have to embrace the boredom, it's just a necessary part of the build up for the finale.
