There's no way that 2nd peloton is getting back. They need to bridge themselves

They might if other teams than Trek work at the front. Giant and Katusha seem to have sent men to the front now.

edit. BMC as well.

The handful of riders in the first peloton will do well to hold them off for such a long time. Vanmarcke, Boonen or Standard may have to go solo from quite far out.
