Greipel top 10. What the f**k?

I'm actually surprised it took him this long. He's always good in the cobbled races, just does his stuff in the wrong moments and is usually nowhere to be seen in the end, but he's great.
Not disagreeing. I've just grown too accustomed to him being a pure stage race sprinter who throws in pointless attacks miles from the finish in the cobbled classics for no apparent reason, which is not exactly something we expect from someone with genuine ambitions of winning the race.

Great ride from the tractor. Pathetic again from Stannard.

Skyfail apart from Moscon. I wouldn't be surprised if he had to work for Rowe and Standard earlier knowing Sky

They let him ride his own race despite Stannard and Rowes problems and bad luck. Just seen the Naeson crash where Rowe got brought down, he then had Terpstra go head first into him on the deck.

Quick Step failed majorly
Congrats to Van Avermaet.
And if Boonen had continued to go hard in the last 15 km he could have caught the trio before the final sprint along with Stuyven and Moscon.
Also a great ride by Moscon! Also liked how he sprinted to the front after catching up!
Also the fastest P-R ever today?

Sagan was strongest rider in the race and reckon he'd have won from 75k out if it wasn't for that puncture as he had Bodnar with him
This kind of post is why I wanted to highlight Naesen's and GVA's achievements earlier in the race. Before their phenomenal rides are lost in the sway of alternative facts from the myopic Saganists.

I'd also like to point (again) that, however great GVA'0s comeback was, given he found himself so far back, he took a really long tow from his team car. I didn't see the same with Sagan.

And he also lucked in when Oss followed Sagan which allowed him a free ride to the final kms.

Getting your bad luck out of the way early in the race does help.

Sagan just has too many lows during a race this year. He's not on the same level as last year.

He was really strong in the beginning of the season, but his form gets worse and worse really

Yeah his puncture and solo across a 20 second gap had nothing to do with it

Doesn't matter. He totally exploded on Carrefour. While Naesen, who had even more bad luck, was able to come back and put the pressure on the others on that sector.

He just isn't as strong as last year.

Sure, he probably could pick his attacks a bit better, but it's not like he is very likely to follow the favorites when they make their move if he waits.

Well, those might have been team orders. Unless your team hires you specifically for doing well in a race like P-R, it probably takes years to get into a role where your team works for you.

You are definitely right. The race was on, when Sagan had his punctures, but after Arenberg, the front group eased off allowing Kristoff/GVA to rejoing relatively smoothly. Not saying it didn't take anything of Greg, but he atleast had 50 kilometers to recover and play it conservatively before he could finally distribute his resources in the last 20 kms.

Good on GVA, he's having a golden year. The amount of crashes and mechanicals seemed harsh this year. Not my favorite edition, but much respect to the riders.

Exactly this. You could already saw in the Omloop Moscon was very strong, but he had to pull for kms for their english honeys.

Their "english honeys" being Stannard and... Dibben?!
