Where are you from?
Born and raised in Sweden with a norwegian mother.
Who's your favourite cyclist?
Through the years: Escartin, Hushovd, Bäckstedt, Cipollini, Botero, Löfkvist, Boasson Hagen, Girmay, Nordhagen,
Your favourite moment in cycling history?
I missed Bäckstedt winning Roubaix so on the bike it's probably Hushovd winning Worlds. But the greatest moment of all time which made me genuinely gleeful the whole day was seeing Armstrong interviewed by Oprah.
What's wrong with cycling at the moment?
The dominant riders are too dominant. I don't want races like Strade Bianche to be over when it's 70km left of the race.
What makes cycling better than other sports (to watch)?
It lends itself to great moments of both tactics, team work and individual feats of brilliance but in the end it all comes down having the legs or not and just holding on for dear life at times when on the rope.
What is the best stage or race design of all times?
Paris - Roubaix, Passage Du Gois, Alpe d'Huez, Mont Ventoux.
Which other sports do you watch the most?
Football, skiing
Have you ever raced competitively yourself?
No, only played Rugby and Bowling as organized sports. I did play an U-19 test match for Sweden in Rugby.
How do you feel about women's cycling?
Don't follow it too closely but can be fun at times at Worlds or Olympics.
You are writing a novel set in pro cycling – what's your plot?
The story of Jean Nüttli, the Swiss overweight guy who lost a lot of weight by riding on a trainer and it ended up leading to him becoming a pro cyclist at age 27 where he rode for Phonak and Saint-Quentin - Oktos and ended up winning 5 pro races.
TT or hard climbs?
Hard climbs, lots of attacks, riders cracking and fighting their way back etc.
If you could rent a current pro rider for one day to help you improve your cycling, who would you choose and what should they show you?
Waste of money.
