Maybe Kristoff Alexander is a worthy replacement for that other Norwegian guy you told us about, whom we've never noticed.

So now that Pegasus have folded, if turtur had planned to invite them to the tdu, will he offer that place to another team?

The guys at team Luxembourg are seriously funny!

"We had imagined that Stuart O'Grady would fight for the overall," Lars Michaelsen told Politiken, "but after his crash during our camp early this month in Switzerland, it is more likely that he is concerned primarily about getting going again."
It gets better...

"So even though it will put me out of contention for the GC at the Tour Down Under" - OGrady

TEAM LUXEMBOURG FOR TOUR DOWN UNDER:

Stuart O'Grady, Davide Vigano, Will Clarke, Martin Pedersen, Martin Mortensen, Stefan Denifl, Bruno Pires (DS: Lars Michaelsen)

Stuey was supposed to be the leader, but now since he broke his ribs it's going to be Vigano.

"With sprinters like Germany's André Greipel [Omega Pharma-Lotto] and Brit Mark Cavendish [HTC] and many other tough sprinters in the field, we will keep our expectations at a moderate level," added Michaelsen. "Maybe Viganò, who is fast, can make a good effort, but we have no doubt that there will be other and considerably greater chances later."

I'm a bit surprised they left out Benatti and Nizzolo, but maybe they will start with Qatar/Oman

He's getting a bit long in the tooth, but he was 2nd in 2009 so it really depended on how well he trained in the winter compared to Europeans.

IN 2009 it was only against some of the aussie riders, davis & brown won stages that year. No competition.. This year he would of been up against Cav, Greipel and farrar.

Watch out for Will Clarke, not only can he sprint a bit, but that stage to Stirling will suit him.

He could also go on the attack at Willunga.

Would not surprise me to see Clarke and Matthews go on the attack during the race or finish high up in a stage.

Timmy Roe will have a go! He is targeting the KOM at the tdu.

Maybe we'll see him in a breakaway, other than that I'd except him more staying low, I think it's his first PT race after all.

As for O'Grady, I think everyone knows he had little chances of winning, but it was maybe supposed to be a nice gesture to him, since he'll be the workhorse for the rest of the season it would have been nice to be the leader in his home tour. It's a way to keep people happy on the team, the same thing happened in Züri-Metzgete 2006 when Cancellara worked hard for O'Grady after just having won the ITT WC and O'Grady finished 2nd.

Saxo Bank-SunGard:
Richie Porte (AUS), David Tanner (AUS), Brian Vandborg (DEN), Juan Jose Haedo (ARG), Sebastian Haedo (ARG), Nicki Sorensen (DEN) and Baden Cooke (AUS).

Despite stealing half the team, the Saxobank squad still looks stronger than Team Luxembourg TDU squad ;)
