Belgian Luxembourg yes. The flags you see are not from the country of Luxembourg, but of the province of Luxembourg.

Nope

It's the coat of arms of the Grand duchy of Luxembourg, but they don't use it as a flag. So yes, he would've noticed.

Lol so you looked it up huh?

I'm actually Luxembourgian so that's why I commented on it in the first place. The picture shows the peloton passing the town of Houffalize, which is traditionally where the Luxembourgians are during L-B-L. Kind of like the dutch curve on Alpe d'Huez.

We use that coat of arms during sporting events to be distinguished from the Dutch. The flags you see there are from the Schleck fanclub (you can see their faces in the orange part).

Luxembourgian rider Laurent Didier from Saxo Bank actually lead the peloton up that hill, since the tactics of the team was not to let go a breakaway at that point in the race without a Saxo rider in it.

No, I go on vacation a lot for a weekend in Luxembourg(belgian province) and I've seen it a lot there. And since pretty much every duchy/county of the low countries had a lion as a coat of arms it's not that hard to figure out...

Ever wondered what it would be like to be on the road during the TDF? This is a cool pic showing Evans doing the prologue in Rotterdam. The crowds are amazing!

Yep. huge crowds. This alone is why i support the idea of a tdf prologue. Holland had great crowds during the Giro as well tbf.

No. But in English "Tour" is "Tour. So they say "Tour of Romandie" as an English translation of "Tour de Romandie"

Sean Kelly always says Tour of Spain, Tour of Italy, even Tour of France, and he won one of them.

And i swear ive seen Spain write "Vuelta a Flandes" before.

Good spot that its a prologue. That was a good prologue. As i recall about 3km, sharp turns, Cav was in the running and Sagan came 2nd by 1 second to Pinnoti.
