to be honest wasn't that surprised. this guy is a very good talent in terms of stage racing. Pity about his season last year, bad luck.
I am really looking forward to him at the giro.

Well it's an early season race with a lot of riders just riding to make the cut and HTC and Saxo competing for the teams classification. So I would not read a lot into someone finishing 8th at 28sec.Simon Gerrans was 16th at 48!

Because people spell 'peloton', 'peleton', I'm just correcting them in a real pedantic way.

He isn't exactly the world's biggest talent in time trialing, so this is a very good result for him. In fact, he's never done better among the pros. Hence my surprise.

I remember him posting a couple decent similar results in the itt (can't remember the exact races of my head). Maybe not up against such a field though. But he is young and growing so progress is on the cards. I am glad for his impressive form though I'd like to see rabo give him more leadership roles personally.

I assume Wiggins is either trying his legs out or is going up the road in advance of an attack by Lofkvist.

HTC won't let this slip though.
