Look out for Mike Kreder from Garmin. I know he is rated highly, especially when it comes to climbing. Another rider poached from the Rabo u23 system.

Could also be a year of being a team mate then anything else for him. Learn the ropes a bit. I do see him as a good stage racer in the future though.

Bos FTW. Anyone got any tips on riders form Spanish U23 team, German or Russian teams, CCC, Caja Rural?

25km to go. Lead group is 55 seconds clear. Peleton chasing hard and beginning to split in stiff cross winds. Might not be a straight forward sprint afterall.

Wonder if Sky will be caught out in the cross winds again!!

CCC: Watch out for Krzystof Jesowski in the sprints. Reigning Polish champion, pretty fast, won a ton of races last season. Admittedly in races like Tour du Maroc and Tour de Taiwan, but, hey, a win's a win! Tomasz Marczynski's quite a good climber, who have proven his worth in stage races like Vuelta a Asturias, Clasica a Alcobendas and Route du Sud. The race profile of Vuelta a Murcia probably don't fit him, I suspect. Time trialist Lukasz Bodnar may surprise in the TT (but probably won't).

Caja Rural: José Herrada's a pretty decent climber. He's done alright in these Spanish stage races before, and was second in the Queen stage of Vuelta a Murcia last year.

The German team's got veteran track racing star Robert Bartko. Don't know much about the rest. Don't know a thing about the Russian team or the Spanish U23, but Manuel Antón, Antonio Cabello and José Carlos Lara all got great cycling names. Anybody know if there's any relation to Igor, Francisco and Francisco, respectively?

I missed it. Did he say something about "winning is not really what matter. The important is to not be 47th in the GC."?

I did not see that tweet.

But anyway, all the favorites finished with the first group - same time...

Lance, Wiggins, Menchov, Klöden, Jezowsky, Marczynski, & Zabriskie.
