they are idiots???
before the race: "we need to attack straight from the start, not after 100km"

Now...past 140km in the race and they still are doing absolutely nothing

Belgium, Australia, Italy forcing some pressure on the pure sprint-teams.
Hopefully a few other groups of the same mix gets away to up the pressure even more..

why not, the speed actual here is uphill and therefore very low, and wont figure in the finish..

But it's narrow and crowded, and it's likely to be the spot where attacks take place.

Thanks for the aussie/azzurri info guys.

germany and gb are riding a smart race. just let the attack go up the road and get some minutes up the road. the attacking teams will be less likely attack towards there team mates unless it is late in the race.

Offredo a great man to send in the break... 2nd group has 45", possibly the best thing which could have happened to make this race interesting.

its a good size before the finish (the finish is at top) this is before the finish and the place on the course where the speed is very low due to uphill, and a straight road with no turns.

and they can afterwards roll downhill and still eat, with out to much cycling action..;)

and the narrow is pretty much the same thrueout the course.

and this eating point will fade out as longer we come in the race..

It's too dangerous, we've seen that in pretty much every race. It's too narrow (there are broader areas that aren't particularly faster), it's too crowded and it's too significant a spot to place the feed zone in.

i hope GB give non-cav winnable world RR champs as much focus, even if it is just to get someone with a shot of a top 10, top 5 the best possible chance of doing so. they should be getting 7, 8, 9 riders in the next few years as a matter of course
