Can we fast forward to Valkenburg please? I don't think I can stand seeing Cav in Rainbow for an entire year. As if he doesn't get his face in the media enough already...

i am so ****ed off...seeing cav win makes me want to cry.
Why?
Is it because Cav won, or that BMC are now certain to sign him?:D

Btw: Officially, GB are currently the world's top cycling nation.;)

Griepel as usual came like a train but from miles back.

Yes the course left lots to be desired, but you can't blame Cavendish for that. In the end, the whole GB team rode superbly, and he finished it off brilliantly - can't argue with that.

Indeed - this sprinters don't deserve to win attitude is hilarious snobbery from a bunch of armchair enthusiasts. I just like my World Champions to look cool...and Cav will not be that!

Why? Am I not allowed to find Cav even more repulsive than Riccò?

Because Ricco is an unrepentant cheat, Cav can be a bit of a d!ck, but he's not a cheat.

oh i think a WC winning multiple stages at the TDF wont look so bad ;)

In days where you can barely stay awake, maybe. But I wonder how people will react when the world champion drops in the first 2nd cat, and loses 25 minutes per stage without caring the slightest bit. If he doesn't drop out, that is.

And to everyone saying Cav isnt worthy as a world champion: I think he deserves to win it once in his career, next year we will get another kind of course and he wont stand a chance again. But with his qualities, you cant really say hes not a good world champion...

It has to be said, regardless of the course, congratulations to Cav for getting the job done and reaching his best form since San Remo 2009. A monstrous sprinter indeed. If I saw it right GT wasn't even his usual best at the end there, so much of the final grind was Cav's work. Monstrous effort by GB the whole day, this settles the GB > Aus debate!

I don't think the world championships should be contested by 70 riders approaching the line.

Yeah.

Great rides by Cancellara (esp.), Wiggins, and Goss, though.

Shameful course and disappointing world champion for the next year. Let's forget about this as soon as possible as we did with Zolder shall we.

Cipo attacked the peloton on a major classic, dropped everyone, made it up to the break, did the most work in the break, then won the race.

Worlds apart
