Cav will win this easily, he has the best team and he proved stage 5 of tour de france that he can win an uphill finish

?
I don't think the Stage 5 finish was uphill at all.

And to all of y'all who keep complaining about the course, every type of rider deserves a worlds course that suits their abilites once in a while. We don't usually see a world's course that is this flat. It's not a bad thing that we get to see the big name sprinters fighting it out for the rainbow jersey once in a while.

Make the finish flat as well, then. With this course, all the laps seem pointless.

Anyone know when the TV coverage of the actual race proper is likely to begin (Eurosport seem to have pretty much their whole morning and afternoon dedicated to it)?

I think they might show the entire race.

Read my mind - a race that can't be made exciting other than for the finish, but where the finish is designed to be awkward for sprinters. Bit of a **** tease all round.

Does anyone know the weather forecast for tomorrow in Denmark as after watching the womens road race today I'm hoping that there might be some wind and rain to at least make the race interesting before the final lap.

how can you even think about such a thought...you destroy this bull****-world so many guys around here live in...every race has to be only ridden with 5(better 4 guys each team), one thousand hills and really f'n steep descents...all we need is a chaotic race with roundabout 5 mio attacks from riders at every point of the course...

This course is going to reveal itself as the worst in many decades. There will be many falls because of the many narrow and dangerous corners and turns, and the race will still be decided in a predictable sprint.

And that would be less interesting than a pancake flat course where there are 275km of total irrelevance?

Last year's Worlds was an example of how to get a flat Worlds right. The climbs were enough to thin the bunch so the winning sprinter needed to really work for their win, and enough to let other types of riders think they had a chance, but the obstacles were far enough away from the finish that the sprinters, if they and their teams did their jobs, could still pull it back and have the sprint.

This year's parcours... there is no chance for anybody other than a sprinter, it seems. Certainly it seemed like the women more or less gave up on the idea of anything other than a bunch sprint very early on, and they're normally more willing to give it a go due to the smaller teams.

Every worlds doesn't have to be like liege, but I do think it has to be selective in some way. It has to. If everybody finishes in the same time, what's the point in doing all those laps? Or watching it?

Last year was great, much better than I expected. And not just because hushovd won, it was a very good race. Hope they'll surprize me and make a race of it tomorrow as well.

I just have this feeling that if it's raining, Cancellara can win by attacking the field.

Farrar will most likely abandon. And I hope Cav does as well.

If there's someone that I really want to see win tomorrow is Cancellara.

Without the use of race radios again, everybody's going to have to really play it smart here. I wonder how much work GB is going to be doing.

I see the defending champ as the favourite. Goss 2nd favourite. Cav 3rd Gilbert 4th.

Not their finishing positions, their chances of victory.

Maybe Modolo a surprise winner.

Of course i know nothing about the course, startlist or anything, just guessing based on what i heard about it being an uphill sprint

I think the one thing I'm gonna hate more than seeing Cavendish win, is the fact that he's most likely going to be praised as a contender in the spring classics next year.

A cobbled world championships would be fun though :)

Not that it would happen, but: would it be feasible to do a race that does a few of the cobbled climbs of belgium, and some the cobbled stretches of PR? I'm no good at geography, but it's more or less the same region, no?
