Well then say "who really cares about Gesink" then.

If your first response to a stage thread is to say "who really cares" is it really such a long shot to think you were talking about the thread topic - the stage?

Besides I do expect him to be a factor tomorow.

A stage win here would redner poor gc performance meaningless. I fell he has been saving himself for this.

Even put him as my prediction in the prediction game (if you have any info to suggest that this is highly unlikely it would be welcome before the time for predictions closes tomorow morning:p)
My post was a direct reply to Mellow velo, who was talking about Gesink, therefore, it should have been obvious

But maybe that's just me?

@acf should be self-explanatory really

in the first sentence it means the other contenders
in the second sentence what the raboteam will say.

well the fact the hitch is also questioning your post says it wasn't overly self-explanatory.

No idea whats going to happen, but its all set up for one cracking stage.

Wiggins in yellow with a lead over the "true" climbers all ganging up behind him. All set up for a cracking two days. (what paris nice might have been had it not rained and ruined everyones plans of attacking).

Just hope we have two cracking days racing. Whatever happens, we are going to get a deserving winner of the Dauphine.

All right I can see it now, but I was skimming through the thread rather than reading every post.

I always read your posts Ruben;)

There is a quote button btw which would have averted this misunderstanding. Feel free to use it:p

Back on topic, Sky rode well enough though they didn't have to do much to win. They rode quite well with about 4 guys on the front for wiggins on the climb.

Would be nice if BMC showed something (not cadel) tonight as yesterday wasn't overly great unles they are saving the legs....

71 Steve Morabito (Swi) BMC Racing Team 0:02:39
76 Ivan Santaromita (Ita) BMC Racing Team 0:04:12
87 Amaël Moinard (Fra) BMC Racing Team 0:07:43 (did have a mechanical)
91 Michael Schär (Swi) BMC Racing Team 0:09:31
121 Manuel Quinziato (Ita) BMC Racing Team 0:11:56
125 Karsten Kroon (Ned) BMC Racing Team s.t
166 John Murphy (USA) BMC Racing Team 0:26:48

Yes i agree ACF, Bmc had no riders to support him. I think Evans will only ride FTW tommorow if Wiggins is dropped. I think Brajkovic might somehow win with Hermans there near the end.

Are you not a bit excited at the prospect of Brad winning a race of this calibre? It might not happen but if it does ...

I really do hope there are people with evans and he wont be isolated i also hope they set a hard tempo to try to isolate wiggans. I hope evan does something but he will probably suck wheels which is all he needs to do.

I think he will lose some time on VDB, Rodriguez and possibly Vino, Evans is the biggest threat, buthe didn't look that strong to me today, I think Wiggins will pretty much secure his jersey here.

Vino is an overrated climber.
He hasn't done much in the high mountains for a very long time.

I agree with DT regarding Gesink, and even if he does have a go who's to say he will win? It is difficult to go from ease mode to super mode.
Guys already riding well and in form are likely to be much better. I suspect he will try on one of the 2 stages, but not win, just to see where his level is.

The penultimate climb is tougher than the average % suggests, due to the flatter bit roughly a third of the way through the climb. They climb 550 metres in the final 7kms or a touch under 8%.

Uran will be the key man for Wiggins over the next two days i think. On climbs like the above i dont think that any of the other Sky riders will be able to stay with Wiggins (how good is Zandio?). Sky have strong riders who wont be that far behind if going all out but they just dont quite have it when it gets properly steep.

Random guess - Monier to win from a break.

Regardless of whether Cadel thinks he can get 1:11 back tomorrow, he should put his team on the front for the final climb and get them to ride aggresssively and put his own team under pressure. If he seriously intends on making the top step in Paris, his team (and he) will have to put his rivals to the sword at some point, so tomorrow is the perfect chance to practice. If they can't do it to Wiggins on the 6th day of the Dauphine, they aren't going to be able to do it on day 19 of the tour to Conti/Schleck/anyone else. If he blows them all up, no big deal, he's finished 2nd in the Dauphine before so finishing second again doesn't really add much.

Bad luck Aussies. Stage finish is scheduled for 6pm CET.
French tv sticks it's weekend oar in!
The good news is they have longer coverage today.
Rai Sport possibly best, scheduled for around 3-30pm CET.
Eurosport don't arrive until 4-15pm CET.

Agree completely, but has to be better to get on the front foot, ride aggressively and pop, rather than ride anonymously and pop anyway. Leaves Cadel isolated either way, so may as well die on your feet than live on your knees.

will have to see how morabito, santamorita and moinard do today. the rouleurs have been doing ok but not the mountain men. Unfortunately moinard punctured yesterday so we couldnt see how he was doing. Im sure they will attempt to set a hard tempo today but we will see if its effective.

No it's not just you. When I read Hitchs reply I figured he was baiting some dutchie again, but apparently he just completely missed it .

I agree with you on the part that Gesink wins. The other riders don't have to pay attention to Gesink so it won't tell us much.
If Gesink doesn't show us anything this weekend it could/should very well worry the Gesink fans. He said that he hopes to show himself this weekend.

The fact that he hopes it isn't very comforting imo.

Morabito, Santaromita and Moinard are decent riders, but I just don't see them putting world class climbers out the back. They don't have the calibre of a Sylwester Szmyd, Oliver Zaugg or Przemysław Niemiec, that's for sure.

Or a Chris Anker Sorensen :).
