Man, Norwegian media will go crazy. Probably hype up EBH as an overall contender at TDF again :p

Didn't look overly good to me.

I honestly am not reading too much into this. I would be pleased if he is taking it easy. Next weekend will tell a lot I guess. Or not, I do expect he will try one of the mountain stages tho.

His riding style was different to races where he is really going for it.

I don't get it ?

wanted to see the reactions that would come if i said it. which ( if succseded) would be funny.

then if Vino won (he didnt thought) and Gesink came lets say 20 ++ then i could use this to make a point of how Vino is supreme to Gesink ( even if this just is preperation for the tour) in every way.

Note: Vino is supreme to everyone in every way not just Gesink, just chosed him randomly couse by the looks of it there is many Gesink fans here to annoy just for the fun of it.
im sorry if i upset you in any way.

This must be a historical low. I think even as neo-pro he climbed better.

I just hope it has something to do with training or not riding 100% but ... it's hard to believe.

Maybe Gesink is timing is form better this year so he's firing strongly at the tour and not the pre tour races.

That was a very impressive way to take a belated first win. He was just about caught by the chasers and then went again! And that was a pretty high quality chasing group. He clearly really wanted this win, which makes me wonder how he's managed to get this far into his career without getting one before. Bizarre.

Interesting that only five riders were left in the chasing group by the time they crossed the line. We knew that Evans, JRod and Vino had good form, but Roche and EBH being amongst the last men standing is more interesting.

This is why I think he didn't go out.

Cause if he did try, he was indeed pathetic, it is hard to believe he could be that bad.

I echo spine and wonder what his ambitions are for the tour? does anyone know?

Finally! VDB2 can win! Congrats to our Belgian forumites.

And finally! Gesink has learned to not go in the red in a preparation race. Barely broke a sweat.

I think the real reason why Dekker Tifosi is worried about Gesink is that his Avatar bet is looking all the more shaky! :)

it didn't at all, I like vino. And this is not a priority race for me. Anyway, I replied because I literally didn't get it. Thought I had the wrong stream or something ;)

Im afraid that that is the problem, too much focus on his TT :<.

I meant in terms of form... Unless he wont go all out there (which I doubt) its impossible to hide bad form over 42 tt kms.

Obviously La Toussuire will be the final litmus test. If Gesink can't perform, or doesn't want to perform, there I will write him off for the Tour.

This is the first time I've doubted Gesink this season so far.

Hardly breathing, running his overly light gear (my opinion :p) with a pretty fresh look on his face.. Something tells me he doesnt want his heartbeat-rate go over a certain treshhold.

Gesink shows he's suffering pretty fast so if he passes the line with his mouth shut then he absolutely didn't suffer.
