You should give guys like Ratto and Ulissi time.

But with good juniors, you never know if they are gonna make it.
Kreuziger was, in results, vastly superior to many of his opponents of the 85/86 generation. Look where he is now....

Kreuziger is pretty good... Joining an Italian team probably wasn't the smartest thing to do though. But then again, he's on Astana now

So do we all agree that Malori will take the time trial win tomorrow?

Maybe some competition from Ulissi, Schumi, Sutherland and Bodrogi....but this field is not crowded with TT specialists, can't really see any real competitors to Malori against the clock.

Sellas lead should be enough IMO, but what's Pirazzis TT skills like?

sutherland could beat malori for sure

Seems like a group of 18 riders with mostly all the sprinters finished too far down and was disqualified for missing the time limit.

team like sparebanken vest really have nothing to do at this level of racing.

I was very surprised that they got an invite though they're not the only continental team there. Not even Rabobank CT usually race 2.1 races with parcours as though as this.

He could very well be up there in the top 5 but I dont think he has any chance against Malori. Only Schumacher or Bodrogi if they should suddenly find their topform (which seems unlikely) could challenge him. I will expect young Balloni to do quite well also.

?

Are you saying Kreuziger is now awful compared to his age contemporaries, or just not 'vastly superior' anymore? Because he's got a TdS, Romandie, 2 TdF top 10s before he's 25, and that seems to me to compare with anyone who's his age contemporary except Andy Schleck and Nibali (on par with Gesink, although we'll see after this year)...

You know damn well what I mean, look at his GT performances. They are nowhere near those others, and not even on par with Gesink. Heck Gesink even battled for the GC win in the Vuelta 09...

where have we seen kreuziger doing anything nearly like that?
I dont see kreuziger winning a race like emilia 2 years in a row either btw

Yes he won suisse and tdr, but in weak fields (most contenderos were in dauphine, romandie never has superb field) with weak parcourses...

Watched it last night. That circuit certainly broke things up. Pirazzi did well to hang onto second after Sella dropped him on the penultimate lap. Visconti almost caught him.

I'm all for giving Ulissi more time, since he is starting to deliver a few CQ points in my direction.

Androni? A bit too good, IMO.

To me, Kreuziger seems to have plateaued.

Let's not get that boring "Kreuziger has plateaued" discussion again. He has been very underwhelming last year, maybe he can pick it up again.

I'll be quite happy if he proves me wrong, later in the year.
He seems to have chosen the Nibali approach for this year (ride the Giro + Vuelta and raise your profile) so let's see how it pans out.

The all singing and dancing Rai Sport 2 on tv. Pays to have a moveable sat dish.
45 minutes of highlights each night and unlike Catalunya etc, they show a few bits, then the final 15-20kms.
Much better.

But the trouble with RaiSport2 at least as DTV inside Italy is that it fails to
keep to it's own published schedules - starting often before advertised or delayed by half an hour or so. But that said - this year they are going overboard on details - there's also the weekly RadioCorsa summaries.

damn i've just seen the rai highlights.rujano's attack was pure madness,no one could keep with that.savoldelli was scared even talking about it=)))))))))))
and then sella's raw, ugly style delivering a huge win for androni, savio was very happy.visconti also looked very smooth and fresh on the climb.

pirazzi will bring so much joy and fun for us,entertainment, attacking fans in may.can't wait.
