Voeckler is betting everything on staying close enough to bridge on the downhill. If he cannot bridge he is gone and the peloton would have been a better choice. If he gets there he will have had 40km to eat and recharge for another desperate climb :) can't fault his passion even if it may not turn out to be the smartest choice.

I guess the idea is, if he got one and isn't just riding from pure heart, to bridge up, get into the Alpe with a big time advantage and atleast secure the podium spot.

Lovely, lovely and more lovely. A pure man to man fight , deciding who will win the TdF. Could not have it better.

Frank is getting another nice ride, I think he dropped back on purpose.
He'll attack on the Alpe once he knows he can drop Evans.

It'll be interesting to see what the data says after the Tour. If they all went slower it might just explain how that could happen. Btw. it's not so surprinsing to see riders develope.

Develop in one season from never finishing higher than 18th in a grand tour, and that when he took 12 minutes on a breakaway, to being on the level of AC, AS, F. Schleck, Evans, etc.? Hmm... Well anyway, we'll see what happens. This talk is more for the Clinic.

Back to the race... everyone is once again saying Voeckler will blow. We've been saying that in every major mountain stage and it still hasn't happened, so I'll wait and see.

How much time do you think the peleton will pull back in the descent? I don't think it's a tricky one like yesterday.

I think they'll pull in the break over the 40k.

BMC 2 helpers
LIQ 1 helper

and they are burning through them with 7k of climbing to go. I wonder how much they will have in the tank for the descent.

And then it's basso and evans on their own.

WAIT A SECOND! Is that some Fuglsang I'm seeing?
Seems like he's come into form just in time to be late to the party.

Ok I missed the attack, how did Frank look, was he in trouble when the attack started or did he look comfortable?

Can AC drop AS on decent?
He is going for all or nothing.

That would be stupid as hell. He needs help for that 40k or he's going to hit the wall on the Alpe. Also - Andy isn't that bad of a decender in dry conditions actually.
