I cant believe that there has not been more info from the culprit - this woman. Wonder what the reaction would have been had she hit Voeckler - Holy Mother of Mercy !!!

Not speaking of the reaction if any attacked in that moment, the way Voeckler did.

Gesink in bike trouble...again.
Actually (and I'm not kidding) Gesink said in an interview that on the day he changed bikes twice, there was in fact nothing wrong with his bike. There was something wrong with his legs, he realized in the following stage.

BTW, apparently Gesink didn't crash today, but was just held up, according to the Dutch commentators.

Flecha didn´t liked it though. Calling the award "surreal". He was (which is understandable) furious not receiving an apology from the driver

Really? Hoogerland got an apology didnt he?

Mental

the drivers probably not allowed to admit liability, crazy but true. Flecha and Hoogs should get a lot more than a sorry eventually but it will take time.

Exactly. Well, speaking to the riders, explain the situation face to face, offer an apology is at least a start. Not enough, of course, but a start.

Has the driver even said something? To the press, media?

In all fairness - he probably was in a bit of shock himself as to what had happened .....

when it all settled - he and Casar and LLS all sat up and waited to see if they could get back on.

They had also waited considerably for Hoogerland to get back on after his terrible descending, so I can forgive him for panic in the circumstances really.

Gap to the break is pretty modest but it should go out to around five minutes while the peloton eats lunch.

Hoogerland got an apology from Flecha -- for knocking him off (after he, himself, was knocked down)...

Prudhomme apologised. France Television apologised (on the web)... but nothing from the driver.

The guy that interviewed Contador said

"everyone agrees now that Cadel Evans is the big favourite for this years Tour. Do you think that it is good for you that someone else has the favourite tag."

Do these guys follow cycling???

El Pistolero - I thought it was but not sure if it was the guy in the passenger seat with his head in his hands - and he had had the car taken from him - clearly he was just ashamed ashamed ashamed !

Sorry, I missed it. Is there a picture of the car or something?

I think they chose to keep the driver completly out of the media, I think a good decision. I expect at some point (s)he will apologize to them, but I would think it would be a good thing if their wasnt any media attention for the driver. Important thing is to get it straight with Flecha and JH.

+1

I don´t blame Voeckler. I spoke of the general reaction IF it were a french dude involved in a demolition derby, and it was a (say) spaniard or a italian doing the same.

Maxiton - it was a short clip on ITV4 in the UK - just showed the car in question being driven by a woman in a black top and a guy in the passenger seat holding his head. The woman didnt look like she gave a **** but maybe that was the camera angle??
