Intermediate sprint completely neutralized by a breakaway - exactly what HTC wanted :)

Oh, so they wanted less points?

For there not being a lot of flat stages in this Tour, I find there to be a hell of a lot actually.

El Pistolero - of course they dont want less points - duh

As long as none of the big contenders go for the sprint they can conserve energy for the final sprint.

Do you not realise how much energy is used when they have to contend a sprint? - LOTS

45 points for the win is huge - that is why it suits HTC - not because they want less points.

In terms of if it suits OPL better - maybe ??

Besides the weakspot for Vacans I also have a weakspot for Marcate. Ofcourse that orginated from him being in Vacans last years, but the guy certainly deserves a win. He has been close to a win so often...

Not sure what JJ was complaining about there. Well I'm sure he was complaining he was boxed in, but he put himself there...HTC rode it smart.

The sprint is 130km from the finish line lol. What big contenders? There are only 3 people left in the running for the green jersey and they all went for it. Seriously, what are you talking about? Farrar isn't going to waste his time anymore with the green jersey and neither will Petacchi or Greipel.

No they didn't. They have the best team, nothing to do with being smart.

Yeah El Pistolero - duh! :p

Cavendish obviously didn't want to pick up anymore points from the inter-sprint! :D

He does that a lot lately. His English is pretty good actually. Sure it has that terrible Spanish accent, but you can understand what he says. In fact, it's his Spanish that I find absolutely crap to try and understand :p He speaks way too fast.

I always found his english better than people gave him credit for maybe it because ny dyslexia makes it almost impossible for me to learn a 2nd language I'm easily impressed.

They rode it smart by staying in a straight line, not going too hard, and boxing JJ against the barrier (who was stupid enough to put himself there). Meant they took 1-2. JJ only 3rd. And HTC rode purely clean.

HTC are already on the front. That's the stage for me (plus I want to get up early for a ride).

Sometimes when I'm riding by myself I like to imagine I'm a solo breakaway holding off the marauding HTC chase they always catch me 10k before home.

Again, they're the only team that can put on a train like that. Renshaw is faster than Rojas on a flat thing like this.

I think it's rather pathetic that the rules favor the strongest team. And even then he struggles to win the green jersey.

The only one of the three that has not ridden for intermediate points so far is Petacchi . . .

yes but el pistle was suggestion at this point that boat has sailed for the others and thus they are less likely to try anymore.
