I guess being a big Gorilla worked out well for Greipel, the moment he got the wheel of Cavendish no-one was going to push him off it ;)

YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Greipel shows that he CAN beat Cav. I always knew it :) Behind Cav and together with Farrar, he is the best sprinter in the field, I guess (OK, good ol' Petacci is not far away ;-)). Now I am looking forward for their battle in Paris.

Three cheers for Greipel!

Important!

Did Contador lose time? I don't see his name in the official site finish list, it includes everyone who finished in the peloton.

Yup, he'll have his train back.
The train makes a difference for sure, but I think the hills made a bigger difference. Cav will have had to work his *** off to stay in the pack, whereas Greipel will have had a much easier time of it.

Hahaha Greipel is grinning like a maniac in the post-race interview. This means a lot to him.

Greipel is taller and heavier, what measure of physics are you using?

Greipel did great. Lotto did great.

Also, Cavendish did well all things considered. Didn't have the usual kick but that's understandable.

Cav will twitter his angry little fingers off pretty soon. Should be fun to read.

Edit: Nvm he was just missed out he finished 31st. Seemed unlikely he was out anyway.

Round 2 tomorrow will be delicious. With fewer hills I think Cav will have the edge but we'll see.

Face it boy, your idol lost to Greipel. And all you can say is "Greipel managed the hills better"? Greipel is a great sprinter and won well against a guy who had held him back for years, the least you can do is congratulate him.

Hmmm interesting, I don't see him either, if that's correct he's lost over 3 minutes and his tour is probably over.
He's there. 31st place
