I strongly advice you to stop putting your hopes on GVA ever winning/coming close in any kind of bunch sprint;) he's not a sprinter.

he could have done well in this stage. and this wasnt really that much of a bunch sprint.

Sagan displays the over-confidence (dullness) of youth.
Thor knew who to follow.
A much needed win to boost his pre-Tour confidence.
A display of form that should have Cav looking for the nearest set of barriers.

Ah yes, Freire. Regularly spotted by Eurosport's dynamic duo.
Pretty impressive eyesight.

not trying to mock you, I really can't remember, but do bmc have any non-cadel wins this season?

Not when Phille is at 100% :p

I thought the first stage was more of a power sprint, more akin to the Barcelona finish a couple of years ago, a really good Goss or Hushovd could beat him there.

i don't like hushovs =(
Sagan should have won he was more clever! that's sucks
Consider Thor was the only one able to catch his wheel. Sagan's timing was a bit early but well worth the effort. Thor won that on his abiltiy to stay well postioned in the final Ks. No easy task. Sometimes the sprint's a relief after all that banging around. :D

no. thats a sad thing. thats why you see me always wanting them to get wins as they dont have enough. But the others have always been close. A lot of 2nds, close ones too. I could name a lot of them. However despite the lack of wins, I find it amazing that BMC are 5th place in the rankings thanks to cadel and all the other top10s.

It's steeper than this finish and the hill is longer and since Hushovd only narrowly defeated Sagan(who went way too soon) it will be a different story in the Tour. Although Hushovd always wins a stage at the Tour, so why not...

Gilbert can afford to start sprinting from 600 meters out. Sagan can't.

on 3% even gilbert would struggle.

I saw six seconds from the others but no wins. Phinney losing by 0.2 seconds. Hincapie just losing on the line to busche. gva losing to gilbert. ballan losing to gilbert in strade bianche. and getting 2nd on a stage of the giro di sardegena.

those are still no wins. there is a big difference btw coming second and actually winning. that little extra thing that makes the different. and other then evans it looks like no other bmc rider has it.

btw i dunno if it is just me but bmc's kit is horrendous. one of the worst around no doubt =/ i hope they improve that next year.

Phinney when fit is always a chance in a prolouge I think.
Bute yeah the rest of the team don't stand out as winners.

They may have trouble beating last years tally.

There's no problem with only having one big winner in your team, but the problem is Evans doesn't win all that much usually... So BMC need a few good guys. As they're a Swiss team they should keep trying for Cancellara. As for Phille I hope he goes to Quickstep-Omega-Pharma.

Boy, that's a horrible name.
