But Vdp was affected more,Pog just glided over surface. Literally went with knee straight into concrete and was limping at the end. People dont know, what kind of performace was that.

Bad news for Pogi fans.
Tadej just like on TDF hit his knee when he fell durring MSR and is now dealing with fluid in the knee. He will still start both RVV and PR but could take RVV more like a training ride. I hope his knee holds up cuz we were on the verge of witnessing the perfect season TDF+5monuments+WC.
source?

don't see him using RVV for training - if his knee's too bad to compete for victory he'll wait for PR

sounds like BS to me

For the last week he was riding with water in his knee. I think it started durring stage 14 when UAE switched their tactic mid stage but I only learned about it after the Ventoux stage so I don't really know when it started. When I asked if it's related to the crash I was told it's the other knee that is bothering him. After La Plagne I was told that the Vuelta is 100% out the window.

He was exhausted at the end of the TDF that is for sure but IMO more so mentally than physically and that is because of the way he was forced to ride in the last week. I have no knowledge of this but I think the knee affected his preparation for the WC as well as he probably couldn't train on TT bike as much as he would need to if he really wanted to challenge Remco.

I guess this guy really digs Tadejs knees...

his mechanic said that the day after msr he was already asking for wheels to prepare for PR and that they would do recons on the cobbles before tour of flanders, I don't see how he would do that if he had knee issues

Tadej still won 2 stages at last years TDF after he fell and the knee really started to swell up after the rest day. I really hope it's just minor issue and he will be fine.

We’re already fine with MSR. Anything afterwards is a bonus.

but in the tour the knee problem apparently was not caused by the crash, but started later on, I'm no medical expert but I don't see a knee injury not showing up in the next 1-4 days and then show up 5 days after the crash

The tiny difference is that he can rest now while at the Tour he had "friendly" rides with Vingo. He should be fine for Flandres.

That's exactly when they show up, body naturally reacts to area of trauma. Only issue is listen to your injured body sending you signals or listen to doctors, team, sponsors, races and go against body signals and just race anyway. It's like a boxer the day after a defeat, black eyes, sometimes almost swollen closed, yes you could train , maybe do some sparring but that is not what your body says..
Who knows how much start money he is getting from upcoming races but it's sizeable for sure.

Docker, Durbridge, and Southam discussed this on the the latest edition of Inside the Peloton, the Race Commiunique.

I had the same thought: that sounds like last year's TdF.
no time to listen to this, are they simply speculating or they have actual information? UAE sports director just said today that he's recovered and he will be at 100% for flanders

On Monday after San Remo he was already out with some of the girls from AG Soudal reconning the Nice TDFF stages then yesterday in the video of him riding around with bread in pocket he was covered in salt stains. I doubt he’s taking it easy.

Let's talk about the Flandres for a while, particularly about last two Kwaremonts by Pogacar. It seems this hill really suits him very well:
In 2022 he had a huge surge on the penultimate climb (over 50 km from the line) but a few guys managed to follow. On the last one only MVP followed (and on the Paterberg he barely managed to hold on).
In 2023 he performed a proper attack on the penultimate Kwaremont, went solo but was caught later (also probably realizing the chasing group was too strong to go solo for a long time). On the last Kwaremont he was unstoppable.
In 2025 he set a big pace on the penultimate Kwaremont but a few guys managed to stay with him. The last Kwaremont was deadly due to cumulative fatigue (despite being slower than the penultimate one).

There's a pattern of setting big pace on earlier climbs before launching. I don't think he wants to go solo over 50 km from the line as some suggest (the chase in this terrain would be very strong). Strong surges on Kwaremont and Kruisberg before trying to go solo on the last Kwaremont are expected. Obviously he must drop Van der Poel: if the Dutch has great legs and somehow manages to stay with Pogacar he will stomp the Slovenian at the end.
