source?Bad news for Pogi fans.
Tadej just like on TDF hit his knee when he fell durring MSR and is now dealing with fluid in the knee. He will still start both RVV and PR but could take RVV more like a training ride. I hope his knee holds up cuz we were on the verge of witnessing the perfect season TDF+5monuments+WC.
You won't find anything on the net. I just got word form someone close to Pogi. That is all I'm going to say.source?

For the last week he was riding with water in his knee. I think it started durring stage 14 when UAE switched their tactic mid stage but I only learned about it after the Ventoux stage so I don't really know when it started. When I asked if it's related to the crash I was told it's the other knee that is bothering him. After La Plagne I was told that the Vuelta is 100% out the window.
He was exhausted at the end of the TDF that is for sure but IMO more so mentally than physically and that is because of the way he was forced to ride in the last week. I have no knowledge of this but I think the knee affected his preparation for the WC as well as he probably couldn't train on TT bike as much as he would need to if he really wanted to challenge Remco.

his mechanic said that the day after msr he was already asking for wheels to prepare for PR and that they would do recons on the cobbles before tour of flanders, I don't see how he would do that if he had knee issuesdon't see him using RVV for training - if his knee's too bad to compete for victory he'll wait for PR
sounds like BS to me
Tadej still won 2 stages at last years TDF after he fell and the knee really started to swell up after the rest day. I really hope it's just minor issue and he will be fine.his mechanic said that the day after msr he was already asking for wheels to prepare for PR and that they would do recons on the cobbles before tour of flanders, I don't see how he would do that if he had knee issues
We’re already fine with MSR. Anything afterwards is a bonus.Bad news for Pogi fans.

but in the tour the knee problem apparently was not caused by the crash, but started later on, I'm no medical expert but I don't see a knee injury not showing up in the next 1-4 days and then show up 5 days after the crashTadej still won 2 stages at last years TDF after he fell and the knee really started to swell up after the rest day. Neither am I. I'm just telling you what I heard.but in the tour the knee problem apparently was not caused by the crash, but started later on, I'm no medical expert but I don't see a knee injury not showing up in the next 1-4 days and then show up 5 days after the crash
Refreshing when big champions just lay it out as it is. No need to make excuses to protect a fragile ego. More watts and a longer effort than last year.

That's exactly when they show up, body naturally reacts to area of trauma. Only issue is listen to your injured body sending you signals or listen to doctors, team, sponsors, races and go against body signals and just race anyway. It's like a boxer the day after a defeat, black eyes, sometimes almost swollen closed, yes you could train , maybe do some sparring but that is not what your body says..but in the tour the knee problem apparently was not caused by the crash, but started later on, I'm no medical expert but I don't see a knee injury not showing up in the next 1-4 days and then show up 5 days after the crash
