That TJVG 4th can't be right, can it?

Yup, number 16 was definately there, pulled his way forward in the last 100m and would have won with 50m more.

I don't think the finish was actually that difficult - I think people got completely discombobulated and went far too early, so the speed at the finish was very low and people who waited, regardless of sprinting ability, came swarming past.

HTC has given up on GC.

All of their riders are now going to be time trialists and/or sprinters. Look for TJVG to win the points title at the vuelta this year.

Sagan scr**ed things up again, he should've won. Clearly the strongest, but lost it when he (and Thor) stopped riding at 400m from the finish.

Cav finished 41st. He's improving!

Stage 8 looks to be a completely flat run-in, so he should feature there.

I count about 15 wins, lots of them by Romain Feillu.

He must've been the last HTC rider left up there when the **** hit the fan so he was probably told to do his best sprint...and he did!

Judging by the guys who finished in front, or who gave it a try, all of them thrive when it's slightly uphill. So I think it was just the very gradual long uphill slog that got the better of them.
