Schleck won't go all out, simply because the result is meaningless. He might test equipment etc.... but here is no reason for him to go flat out. The whole race has been training for him. Some days he shows something and others he doesn't. Not the ride of someone who is serious about getting a result.

Bergatoli is a swiss rider in team type 1. Starting to believe TJVG could come 2nd.

Theres no reason why Andy should put in anything but a horrid tt today.

Lol, probably true as I guess something horrid should be expected.

When did he show something?

Care to explain ?

Every other GT rider will want to test equipment, position etc before TDF - most did in France last week - except your beloved of course.

I think Andy needs to put in a good time, but what are your reason why Andy needs tp not worry about the ITT.

Contador and the rest know Andy like Gesink have improved and worked on their ITT so doing a horrid time will not be any info for them I don´t think

movingtarget says it well. I just think tt is a hard discipline and Andy can manage it once or twice a year when he needs to. When hes got the yellow on his shoulders (or on his wrists like last time), knows his life dream is at stake, knows there is only a ceremonial stage and a beach waiting for him afterwards, then he can go 200% all out, kill himself, put the pain on and put in a decent tt.

Here andy doesnt have that motivation. He wont really get anything from going all out. He can still test himself in training or at the Nats. In fact it might help him to appear very weak at tts again. Maybe someone like Cadel will think 50 seconds is enough to take back in the final tt and will fail.

And if hes testing equipment then that might mean a bad tt anyway. I recall Contador was well underpar trying out his new tt bike in Dauphine 10

Hes already proved himself in this race by winning the kom anyway.

For formbuilding he should go all out (at least really hard) on two stages. I think he'll go quite hard today. Maybe he'll go hard for parts of the course and ease up. Important not to show his cards before the tour.

Fair Points, the last sentence if it read Alberto already proved himself in this race by winning the kom anyway, and he had rode the same as Andy would you be saying the same ?

Just asking cause I think there are some rather big holes - yes Andy ride 2 classics and 2 weeks of the year at the TDF and thats all, but I still see holes.

ps ASO should put a longish ITT after 10 days would make the mountains in the last week much better racing.

Andy making up 7 minutes after losing 4 in the ITT and 3 for being Dumb.

Yeah i think if Contador won the kom it would be impressive too though obviously Contador has way higher standards.

Even if Andy hadnt done squat here id still think hed be good for the Tour. I expect Andy to gain a minute on the ttt, stay with the pack till maybe the superbesse. Get a few seconds there, a few seconds on one or two other mtfs and lose minimal time in the itt.

If Contador does better then theres nothing you can do about that, but i expect andy to be at 110% and be unbeatable by anything other than a crash or the greatest cyclist of our time.

Spartacus crushes the first intermediate time: 30 secs faster than Bobridge, in 8 km.
Final GC:

Cunego
Leipheimer
Mollema
Jakob Fuglsang
Kruijswijk

Stage:

Klöden
Cancellara
TJ
Leipheimer
Sagen

It is possible for Leipheimer to overtake Cunego, but even I would like Damiano for the over all for his fine performance on Stage Three.

Of course this could all be weather adverse. Klöden is just a feeling that the soft pedal is over so he's going to give it the "full gas." Cancellara is probably the logical choice though. TJ will do better that most expect. I think Fuglsang is also a threat.

OK then Cancellara.
