Just watched the final climb as I wasn't able to watch this live. Well that was just amazing, but I can't help thinking back a few years with certain riders flying up the mountains. Now we got someone winning a stage coming from pretty much nowhere and the GC leader who only performed well at Saunier Duval then 'dissapeared' only to magically own everyone when he's back with that old team boss he had @ Saunier Duval.

I hate it when I think like that.

Laugh all you want, but organisations always do a better job when stars show up. Don't know why you think it has anything to do with fanboyism. I was disgusted by the fact that there was no police up there.

The best strategy at Angliru these days is to attack right before the big crowds and you've won because no one is going to pass you anymore because of those crowds. I'm surprised no one ran into crowds on the Angliru.

They were 10+ seconds slower than Rodriguez last year in the final km though.

That's good news. I just hate it that I can't seem to really enjoy surprising performances, because they become suspicious to me.

It still is suspicious if you ask me.

True, should have said trolling the Vuelta field as that's what I meant actually :p

Though Sanchez and Contador aren't really factors in Ardennes.

Wasn't Contador 3rd in the 2010 Fleche Wallone?

The real riders who fight it out in the ardennes constantly
Schlecks
Gilbert
Vino(gonna retire)
Valverde
Kolobnev(caught for doping)
Evans

Contador hasnt took part a lot but he is really active whenever he takes part
Sanchez is active in the ardennes once in a while.

Aren't you forgetting Purito?

Yeah, but FW is just an uphill sprint, the strongest wins. And it was only one year. I don't think he'll focus at Ardennes next year if he's serious about Tour-Vuelta double.

Still a factor as was he in Vino's win in L-B-L as was mentioned earlier. I agree he'll likely not take part in the Ardennes next year although I would prefer that he would. He has unfinished business there.

Ah!! I'm so mad I had class during the final 3 km!

But I caught the replay, and WOW!! What a finish!
Congrats to both Froome and Cobo!!

Holy **** having been out all day, and just watched the highlights on ITV4. Wow!

It was a bit special mate!!

Thought Cobo's goose was cooked in that final kilometre, Still struggling to work out how he fought back.

Obviously overshadowed by the first two today, but an acknowledgement for the ride today by Bruseghin. Right on KoM's wheels for the Cat 2 on a breakaway, after being caught he was one of the first to attack on the bottom of the climb, bridging across to Dan Martin very quickly, and then still had enough left to finish 7th, ahead of most of those ahead of him in the overall.

And all while the rest of his team were pulling out with stomach problems, which makes one wonder how well he could have been feelig if he had the same food last night.

I'm classless (I was at work). I'll have to catch it at home.

Yes congrats to them. Froome, or Cobo, have not crashed into any barbed wire fences and soldiered on, but I like what I see in them.

Errr, by sitting up a bit earlier when he realized Froome was overcooking him, and catching up once Froome overcooked himself?

endless thanks Dim-This stage will be remembered for years to come & hopefully will be inspirational for many Brits to support & practice the sport:)

Too true! I used to cycle my bike using Geraint Thomas and his trip up the Tourmalet as inspiration ( I live in Cardiff like him =) ), but now I've got another one to go on! Va Va Froome!

Unfortunately, a lot of us are like that. I have personally become very cynical.
Until I see power output numbers, I question everyone placing significantly higher than before.

Great finish. I really tbink Froome has the beating of him, just a shame the last week is a bit low key.
