Obviously overshadowed by the first two today, but an acknowledgement for the ride today by Bruseghin. Right on KoM's wheels for the Cat 2 on a breakaway, after being caught he was one of the first to attack on the bottom of the climb, bridging across to Dan Martin very quickly, and then still had enough left to finish 7th, ahead of most of those ahead of him in the overall.

And all while the rest of his team were pulling out with stomach problems, which makes one wonder how well he could have been feelig if he had the same food last night.

+1. Bruseghin has been one of the major animators over the past few days. Chapeau for Dan Martin also for attacking at the bottom of the climb and holding off for 4th.

Until I see power output numbers, I question everyone placing significantly higher than before.

It hurts though, allthough this might sound a bit too dramatic. I love this sport, but everytime someone shines I get suspicious. Sometimes I wonder why I watch it when I think about it, but my love for this sport is too big :)

It also seems to be part of the charm of this sport, as it's never been otherwise, but I've always loved it

I really hope Froome wins this. ACF had his time in the sun in July, and I'd love for Dim to get to ride the GT train for a bit, too. ;)

Oh well, just pretend the combinadas is a youth jersey. Mollema is leading that I think.

Just for the record;

As far as my calculations goes, Froome did an average VAM of 2285 m/hr for the last k. Just impressive.

Just imagine the VAM during the quite long acceleration. Does anybody have a time between flamme rouge and 500 meters to go for Froome?

I'm curious about the power numbers as well. It was a pretty fast climb. 17.15 or so to climb the official 545 meters.

Edit: about 20 seconds slower for the whole climb than last year

Clinic issues or not - that was fecking awesome racing.

Chapeau to both of them. I cannot believe Cobo got back on, and then Froome got back past him once he'd gone past. That is all mental strength, and not much else.

Brilliant. For a GT to have a Fleche Wallone finish between the 1 and 2 GC guys like that is simply awesome.

No, 2nd to Cobo, but is wearing the white jersey because Cobo is in red. However, tomorrow Bauke will be wearing the Green jersey as of right:).

Edit: Oh, Dekker just beat me to it

Yeah Cobo was freakin awesome today. He looked soooo tired at the finish. Good he didnt try to block Froome against the barrier at the end, and instead let Froome have a chance at the win.

So is it going to be Sky's job to haul back in breaks now? Doesnt seem smart for Geox to pull in a break. Looks like there is still more exciting racing to come.

Actually, Froome passed Mollema for second in the combinada. On the green, does anyone think he schould try to keep it? He has 26 points on Sagan, and with the reduced sprinters field he could pick up a few more points.

I'm not friend of this competition, if you se 2000s Tdf young champions sometimes you will see average riders over stars today. Of course Mollema isn't gonna be an average rider but it's not a solid proof to me

And winning the Dauphine and 3rd in the Vuelta, if he holds onto it, is no big deal? Wow... forget it. I'm apparently talking to a crazy person.

Plus 3rd in Paris Nice.

I think Wiggins has had a very good season so far. In fact, if you look at CQ ranking, it's his most successful season to date.

In the last 15 years or so the only TdF white jersey winners without a GT podium finish are Salmon and Karpets and you can add Cunego and Popovych I suppose as they had their podium finishes before winning the white jersey.

Average white jersey winners like Ivan Basso, Denis Menchov, Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck in the TDF 2000s?

No wait, he's below average right now.
