Froome almost knocked over Cobo the last time he went by him. Lol. :D Amazing effort by both riders. I agree Froome should have gone earlier.

Bauke podium?

EDIT: Nah... Still way off.
Ofcourse not, Wiggins finished within 20 seconds of him (+8 bonus seconds). He needs double that.

Still the stage to Bilbao, Wiggins looks cooked. Just try Bauke!

With 50 meters to go, when Froome went to pass him from the inside, Cobo moved out of the way, when he could easily shut the door on Froome.
Good sportsmanship.
Not that you'll ever hear it from Harmon.

What a fighting spirit from Cobo at the end, his face was contorted with pain and effort. Chapeau to both of them. It was a pure contest of will, to endure the pain.

Wow. Two very worthy opponents.

Poels dissapointment of the day. Sigh, just when I applauded him for being consistent this Vuelta, he falls through. Same goes for Maxime Monfort btw.

still a pretty good first attempt at a GT (not counting tour).

Nice climbing by Mollema to take third. Even better from Martin to take fourth, considering that he attacked so early on the climb. JVDB really seems to have destroyed himself, but at least he gave it a real go.

As for Poels and JRod, a bit of a let down.

That Sky TTT might turn out to be absolutely disastrous if Froome loses this by 10-20 seconds!

I think that will teach Geox to let the break go, not letting a break get away cost them 8 seconds (The difference in time bonuses). Grant it other teams was working but they had no reason to help out. I expect Sky over the next to days to ride at the front trying to get Froome some time bonuses over the next couple of days.

Memories of Bola del Mundo last year, lots of similarities.

This climb is Ventoux-like, sort of standing lonely over the Bay of Santander. Some nice scenery.

I'm not usually much of a Sky fan, but that was a really amazing performance by Froome - and a bit of a risky inside pass at the end. I thought Cabo was toast when Froome dropped him on that ferocious attack. Hell of an effort to get back on.

Also has Andy Schleck watched and learned? This is how you pull off a proper acceleration. Not looking behind after 100m, but just keep going and going like Froome

yeah that was awesome, he just went full out. Of course it hurt him, but was epic.
