Nibali doesn't have to do anything besides wait for Wiggins to crack. He can take 4s from Wiggins pretty much at will, so there is no need to do it soon and have to defend the jersey for longer.

When I said he would win, I didn't mean he would push himself hard and go early. I just expect him to attack in the last few km to get the bonus seconds for the stage win and thus wrap up the Vuelta for himself. Is this really such an impossible scenario?
