Thought I saw the Pope going backwards after De la Fuente's little dig but wasn't 100%. Oh well. He's out.

Lastras just made my day- that's what I as a cycling fan appreciate when a fellow like Pablo takes the initiative to attack without hesitation... & what can I say about the continuing homage to Xavi? - just great racing:)

Might be the 4th K tho. Kangert was supposed to be the worker yesterday and today, but he came in the front group today and is only 20something s behind Kessiakoff in GC. Not sure then..

I guess you're joking because there is no way Kangert will end anywhere high on GC.

He was never in contention, he excluded himself before the start.

I've just returned from holiday. Have no idea what's been communicated before the start.

Lastras dedicated his victory to Tondo, Soler and Weylandt :) nice gesture :)

Is that the full interpretation of all those arm signals he was making?

A sympathetic and worthy winner, well done! If today's hills can wreak this kind of havoc, what's gonna happen tomorrow?

And why is that? Kessiakoff is probably just a notch better than Kangert, but Kangert is in top form right now.

Ok, might be overrating him alot, but still I think he has a good shot at atleast top 30. Kangert needs like 3-4 years to be a top 10 in grand tours, the 1-1,5 years out of injury and his bad knees really need time.

Didn't see Sagan... did he overpeak ?

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. He may have decided to not push himself in the heat once it became apparent that a stage win wasn't in play.

We also don't know how the heat is affecting him.
