To be consistant with my disagreeing with you, I believe Froome will have a quiet year :p

That's nice. But you might be doing it for appearances sake, to disagree that Froome would be bad. And he will not have a quiet year as the British media/ CN pay more attention to the Olympics ( in Britain ) and his GT aspirations for next year. He will defiantly be hyped by the time the TDF/ Vuelta comes around.

Also as of late i think me and you agreed on some things ( like that Gesink will return and own at the Vuelta )

Neither Denis Menchov nor Igor Anton will crash.
Nibali will attack on mountain climbs.
Andy will improve his ITT skills.

The first one is not that bold in the sense that Rolland will be working on his ITT and is a better climber.

Does that include ITT's for the flat stages? Also in the Giro no one would consider going on an attack on a flat stage anyways.

1. Maybe so, though I expect Europcar to start with Voeckler as their leader, making it a bit like Froome-Wiggins at the Vuelta.

2. Excluding TT's. It's a bit of a joke, but to me Rujano always seems to find a way to lose time where it's absolutely unnecessary. Like Menchov missing a peloton split. Didn't this happen to Rujano several times last Giro? (It's possible I'm actually wrong here, I didn't check.)

Lost 5 minutes on the Strade Bianchi stage. :(

Could happen again. Even though the stage is weaker, the two dirt climbs will catch people out if they aren't at the front.

The medium mountains of Stage 12 probably the only other threat.

The TTT will hurt though :(

No descends on Strade Bianchi this year though, I guess thats where Rujano lost alot of time. TTT will hurt a few of the candidates chances, but I guess its overcomeable in the mountains. :)

I was thinking he might struggle on the steep dirt climbs, but I guess he went ok on Kronplatz ;)

Edvald Boasson Hagen will win MSR.
He will try to be a lead out for Cav, but will be so strong that no one is able to pass him:p

I think in a recent article published it was said Rolland would be leader whilst Voeckler would have more of a free role to attack. They shall also wait to see if Kern can be a factor at the TDF as well.

Timmy i was joking about the " quiet " season for Froome ( in the media sense ).
Our views differ as to whether he will go well next year but that is fine.

With Contador at the Vuelta ( even if Froome did not do the TDF, which i hope he does ) it would still be hard for him to win. Then there are other people like Cobo, Gesink ( who shall be in form in that part of the season ) Anton ( targeting the Vuelta ), JROD ( might just time his attacks and be consistent throughout a whole GT ) and Kreuziger ( who is solid ). There are a lot of GC riders for him to contend against but it would be in a stronger field so coming 2/3 would not be discounted as a bad performance.

Adriano Malori to win a GT TT. Not impossible, especially if he does the Giro.

Millar would presumably be going to the Giro again though. Though any breakthrough for Malori would be good because he has not had as much of a rise as i would have expected. He needs a breakthrough for people to associate him with the talent he was.

If that's the case it's indeed not a bold prediction. Scratch it, then.

Just read CN article about Renshaw and Rabobank. Any bold predictions of 2012 sprints that feature Cav, Tyler, and Renshaw?

Not like you to miss it, but theres a far better example of Rujano doing well on a steep dirt climb;)

Renshaw will fail as a sprinter and will start leading-out Bos instead after which Bos will start winning a lot of sprints.
