Anyway , i hope for Contador to win , just so that he get his monument win he deserves so much

I don't see why he would be particularly deserving. How many monuments has he even started in his career?

He's always been focused on the GT's and other stage races in the past. He was 3rd in Fleche Wallone in 2010 as far as I can remember that has been his best result in the one day classics aside from his Milano-Torino win.

Since he won his first gt i believe the ammount of classics Contador has done is on average 1 a year, and thats if we include the spanish nats as a classic.

Zero (0) monument, he debuted winning one-day races this week, Contador deserves to win a monument, I do not know if it will be Lombardy, but he will win one day.

He has started LBL 3 times, and never threatened to win. If you say a rider 'deserves' to win a monument, that, to me, implies that he has made a number of attempts to do so, coming close more than once. Otherwise it's like saying that Andy Schleck deserves to win the Vuelta.

to be fair in 2010 contador said he wanted to focus on the ardennes in the future and that he would ride them that year to gain experience and help vino (which he did). he ended up only riding FW and LBL because of the silly ash cloud that canceled all flights for like 2 weeks.

then clen gate happened and it's not like he has had much chances to focus on them again, in 2011 he was focusing on the giro and this year he was suspended.

Sorry, I don´t know if Andy was in some Vuelta start list . Returning to Lombardy, when I say Contador deserves to win, I think if he has "good legs", he will try to win.

Why? If he'd come close on a number of occasions before, fine, but they've barely been on his radar.

He deserves to win a monument because he deserves to go out of this sport as one of the greats

Costa says he is feeling tired and feels like his form is getting worse everyday so that's another one we should count out of a good result tomorrow.

he has indeed had a fairly long season so it's normal.

Saying Contador 'deserves' to win a monument is like saying that Cav deserves to win Paris-Nice because he won Ster ZLM Tour

Deserving to win, that's Nibali. A long range attack and solo win, that would be beautiful. Won't happen, though.

Yes i completely agree. He deserves it after his performance last year and 3rd in M-SR and 2nd in LBL/ this TDF and WC.

Gilbert i think is favourite but the route might now be harder and that plays to Contadors' advantage.
