So when I picked my team it was under 3000... now its over... do I have to change it or if I don't try and edit it will it stay the same?

You have to change it because you were selecting from the list prior to the latest update and the buying cost has change for most riders.

For TDF, I'm planning on using earlier version of the CQ update so there are no confusions.

As per enforcing the 9 rider team ... I just think it will be right for everybody to have 9 riders. It is what makes the game interesting and challenging. Also one of the reasons I didnt remove the known non-starters so we all have to hassle and make sure each rider is even participating. :D

Again guys, this is a beta version so we can make it better for the future and all suggestions and complains are appreciated!

Update: as per the confusion regarding the team selection, we (Hugo & CQM) have agreed the all 9 riders must be participating in the Giro!

Thanks for understanding!

Sorry I am not clear...

Do riders have to defend points from last year's Giro?

(I think that would be a good way to play the game.)

NO, no, no. We dont care about last year points. We are just using current CQ points value to determine the buying cost for each rider. The goal is to score as much points from the Giro as possible. We all start with zero points and whoever has the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

That was my first idea as well, but I soon realised that it would be impossible to do at that way, because what are we to do with those who didn't ride the Giro last year?

just entered my team seems to me like a pretty good one despite the budget.
Got my two from BMC too;)

They become better value. it means there is more of a judgement to make, it gives another dimension to the game. To me it seems strange that we are using the current CQ score to determine the value before the game but not at the end of the game. I would also have liked the other races in the period to be included - someone might find a real gem somewhere. (although this would be open to abuse - I would have had Moser and Nerz in my team to take advantage of their scores on Tuesday).

Just my thoughts, happy to play the game as is.

So a fantasy team that includes riders that were shortlisted but not ultimately selected by their real life team is disqualified? Or has it simply wasted some points?

Not everyone has access to the site at the last minute if their teams make changes, and no provisional list is really authoritative (even the Gazetta site still lists Quintana and Dekker)

I don't know whether it was part of Hugo and CQM's calculation, but our 3000 point budget places us among the richer teams, but not in a megabucks category. Average points outlay of the real life teams is just over 2500.

Seems pretty self explanatory. Pick a team of 9 under 3000 current, rolling CQ score, points.

Everytime a rider scores points in the Giro, your team get those points.

I've so got last placed locked up with 45 points :D

Just done my team, pretty proud of it reckon ive managed to get quite a few decent names that should perform in there. My first stab at a CQ game so fingers crossed.

My personal fav is J. Hunt. 25 points! Lets just hope he finishes in the first five on the SKY TTT and his profit will be insane, I think. I am learning tho...

Got a pretty solid team now IMHO for 2995. Strong in the mountains (no sprinters ;)). I even managed to to restrain myself from the obvious Pinotti pick .

Just entered, 2991 points, 7 riders i am happy with costing 2867 and then 2 wild cards who could win from a break.

Am happy that this game is running, provides consolation for the fact that i missed the main CQ game as i had no internet for a while. Just checked my team (i have kept the crumbled sheet of paper) and as of the last update i would have been in 3rd place.

I believe the individual points for the TTT are 17, 10, 6, 3,2,1 The 70 points for stage wins do not go to every one of the first five.

Since the deadline has passed.. My team is, sorted by cost:

Jose Humberto Rujano Guillen - 758 points
John Gadret - 620 points
Ivan Basso - 609 points
Sergio Luis Henao Montoya - 339 points
Beñat Intxausti Elorriaga - 251 points
Marco Pinotti - 203 points
Tom Jelte Slagter - 138 points
Sonny Colbrelli - 48 points
William Bonnet - 34 points

Didn't put a lot of thought into it, but I think it looks pretty strong.
