Cav will take this without any problems

He will have some, the injury still pans him a lot if you seee his twitter. It will not be an easy ride at all.

Those "climbs" will do nothing, way too far from the finish for any aggressors to stay clear. Bunch sprint, Cav.

Let's see what the pundits say. Will Garmin unleash Tyler Farrar???????for a chance to win, or will they keep all their guns in reserve to protect Ramondas??!!!!!!!!!!Anyway, if Manx'Man's SKY could take him thru the little hill unscattered, it's his call.............I guess

Garmin have a chance for the stage but will have to work all day to protect the pink jersey so Farrar will probably not have a train. However he and Goss do have good stamina on these courses and so therefore feature in the sprint ( unless if Farrar has to work ). Cav may not even reach the finish and in the sprint i expect Goss to win.

Hushovd and Farrar 2nd and 3rd.

Casar to attack.

Just when the Tour de France has realised that you can't get away anymore with an ultra boring first week, the Giro d'Italia decides to create an ultra boring first week. Bring on the mountains already!

This week has been bad in terms of excitement ( it's been more methodical in terms of GC separation ) but the GC gaps are significant ( i like the TTT- watching wise ) and the crashes ( drama- not riders being hurt )/ sprints have been intriguing / exciting. Also nice to see a young rider like Phinney ( with lots of potential ) take the pink jersey.

that's a good point, it will be interesting to see who will be doing the work, especially besides Bauer and Rosseler. Hunter/Rasmussen are useful in the final and Hesjedal/Vandevelde/Stetina are options for the GC, so I think Navardauskas will have to do some work himself.

But all in all, usually they don't build up a train for Farrar anyway, especially since Julian Dean is not part of the team anymore, so it won't be much of a difference for the final.

Surely Farrar will just sit in Hunters wheel, with Hunter just behind Cav, come fourth and bemoan the fact he couldn't get a good position?

Should be a mass srpint, and well those go Cav's way more often than not.

But its always a lottery.

I really wouldn't want to be in Ferrari's shoes today. I think he is in for a torrid time.

Hum... I doubt Vandevelde is there for GC. It wouldn't surprise me to see him on the front. Same with Stetina, he may go well on GC but he's a domestique.

I would be surprised if Navardauskas was protected, expect to see him on the front.

Strikes me that Savio might be better to voluntarily send Ferrari home and focus on the GC and mountain stage wins. Or, better for Ferrari, just keep him well out of the way in the next couple of sprints and have him try on later flat or intermediate stages (after all he's one of the better climbing sprinters I think).

come on... Ferrari has done something wrong, but he's not the first and will no be the last... he will put more attention now.

The profile looks quite interesting on Cyclingnews' Live Coverage. Quite steep, I'd say around 50% :D

I get the feeling it's been normalised between 0 and 1, or this could be the decisive stage in this years Giro!

Yeah it's not like it never happens that someone sprints erratically, but that was a pretty bad example, and from Savio's point of view I'd want to extinguish the bad publicity so that when Rujano starts doing his thing that's all people remember.

Good one from Sean kelly: if cavendish had done what Ferrari did, he'd probably been fishing on the Isle of Man today.:)
