Yeah and he wrote a blog about how much he suffered too
I think the confusion comes from Leipheimer's posting yesterday:
@taylorphinney Welcome to the Grand Tours kid

No, no, I realise this certainly isnt a pointless breakaway!

Don't get me wrong, Vacon are one of my favorite teams- They are in a lot of pointless breakaways though to be fair. As well as many where, as you have mentioned they get a win, Mr Kwibus

Technically, most breakaways are ''pointless'' because most of them get caught. However, for a team that is characterized by being in breakaways and a ''go-go'' attitude that is beside the point and certainly not pointless. Especially when, like you mentioned, they get into a breakaway that actually stays away and contest or get a win out of it. I mean, the old saying goes: ''You'll never know if you don't try''. This is how they have become an attractive team for many cycling fans including yourself apparently. :)

Only 15 names on the ticker. And Garmin have Bauer there.

he is 10 minutes down in GC and his chances to win a stage versus someone like Lastras are very small, so that's not much of an excuse for not doing any work at all (if that's the case of course)

Little chance to win the stage? With the Jack Bauer name? Seriously?

This could well go to the finish, no GC contenders in there. Lastras would be my pick from that group, this is exactly the sort of stage he oftens wins in big races
