He could go on a break away 20km before the climb.....................

Then swap to a moto for the climb itself. :p

As stunningly beautiful as that finish is I'm so glad I don't have to ride up it and can just watch others doing the climbing.

Really glad I have the afternoon off work so I can watch this in full, looks like an exciting and incredibly beautiful finish.

Not today. If Sky manage to form a breakaway then it makes much more sense to let Henao and Uran fight over the win. In any case, if all the riders read this forum then this tactic will be too well known now.
Oh ok, thanks for explaining!

This explication is for real?

I don't know if you read yesterday's stage's thread, but if you did you'll know this is an example of Bernie Eyesore's anti-tactics for cycling races.

You made me curious and I just read what Bernie Eyesore was saing in yesterday's thread. The man is all about tactics!

Most important question (according to bavarianrider), HOW GOOD IS THE TARMAC

I think it's good, at least judging from the clip of the last climb into Assisi. Some parts seemed to alternate red and white, which is remarkably pleasing to the eye. I would even argue that the aesthetic value of cobbled sections not only breaks up the monotony in your average day road surface, it also actually enhances the visuality of the tarmac because of its contrasting value.

Nonetheless, the beauty of good, old rough American tarmac is unparalleled and I am starting to wonder if these Italians actually have artisan, skilled craftsman who know how to properly lay a decent stretch of black targrout.

Cobbles break Fat Tony's mojo. Hence whatever you say, American tarmac is the way to go.

Yes, he sure knows how to mess with the opposing teams' minds. :D :p

Too many emoticons from me there. Take your pick. I don't know how I am pitching this.

Made myself a cup of tea sat down put British Eurosport on and the tennis is still on and they are still on the 1st set

Well, they aren't due to go live for another 40 minutes.
Having said that, the girlie tennis is grunting on and on and on again.
Clay court is one step above playing on mud.

Yes he was.
He set a goal before the Giro to be in the break once every week, but he's exceeding his expectations now I guess :)

British Eurosprt was due to show the Giro at 12 45 a hour before Eurosport but it looks like the main Eurosport channel will show cycling first.
